10-8 Internationals as we go to bed on this Saturday night. Really should be 9-9 with JT/Fowler coughing up a 5-up lead with 8 to play to halve their match and Kuchar/Finau spitting up a 2-up lead with 5 to play for a half. Reed’s caddy gets into it with a fan and gets booted from the tourney. There was talk that Reed could have been axed too but the Tour decided against it (there’s a provision in the Tour handbook that if a caddie commits an egregious act, the player can be penalized as well). Sooooo, just a normal Saturday in golf.

Singles matchups:
Ancer vs Tiger
Matsuyama vs Finau
Pan vs Reed
Li vs DJ
Hadwin vs DeChambeau
Im vs Woodland
Niemann vs Cantlay
Scott vs Schauffele
An vs Simpson
Smith vs Thomas
Oosthuizen vs Kuchar
Leishman vs Fowler

Interesting that Tiger leads off but part of that is he wants to go captain the later matches and part of it is Ancer having said last month that he’d like to take on Tiger. Ernie threw Ancer out first and it didn’t take Tiger long to put his name out there as a counter. It may not be a Stephen Ames 9 & 8 situation but Abe had better watch what he asks for. Overall, I think the Internationals can get 5 1/2 points out of these matchups. Either way it goes, I think this week put some necessary juice back into the Pres Cup.
Great recap. Definitely looking forward to the singles tonight. 6 PM - 12 AM on the east coast, can't beat it.

Lol about Reed’s caddy. Entire family of dadholes.

Yeah this primetime golf has been excellent. I'm not glad we're losing but it's nice that this actually seems like a competition

US has 6 matches in pretty good shape, just need to hang on and not let the tied matches slip the other way. Tiger has played a pretty mistake-free round. And Finau coming back from down 4 to tie it up has been awesome

Agreed. Great comeback, and great captaining by Tiger.

I love my Cleveland wedges. Vokey seem to be very good as well as the new Taylor Made Hi-toe wedges. That raw face is sexy

It doesn’t matter. Find something that’s cheap.

Callaway Mack Daddy’s from Callaway Pre-Owned. Like New will be much cheaper than new and could still have the plastic wrap on them.

Shoutout to MR25 for making all my Facebook and Instagram ads for golf clubs now. Beats the ads I was getting for Tiffany & Co. for the necklace I bought my ex two days before we split up

Tried out Ping, Vokey, and Callaway at Pine Creek Golf down on Duncan. Very much a proponent of being able to actually hit the club and support local business.

Wasn't a fan of the Ping so after testing 56s I tested a 52 in both Vokey and Callaway. Ended up going with the Vokeys for both. The Callaways were a little too light for my tastes.

I have a love hate with my vokey sand wedge. Some rounds I’m unstoppable hitting it 8ft or inside from the pin, other rounds I’m awful with it not even hitting the green.

I love my cheap Callaway warbird 60 degree lob wedge, I’m money with that club.

Welp, it was a rough day at Royal Melbourne for this kid. Greens are lightning, everything is firm, and the bunkers are a true penalty. I was in the fairway bunker on 6 and it has a face about 10 feet high. Somehow, I got that ball out of there without any issue which is something I couldn't say about a lot of the greenside bunkers. Great to be able to take on that track but I wish my Florida game traveled better. With the exception of my Sunday round at Huntingdale here, I haven't broken 90 anywhere else outside the US.

As for the Pres Cup, the US found their mojo and the improvements they made in the afternoon session on Saturday and realizing that they didn't have to fire at pins here led them to a more consistent effort. Thought we were going to have a tie on our hands but Kuchar stuffed it close on 17 to get that half point over the top. Interesting that the celebration was pretty subdued given the comeback that was necessary. If this had been the Ryder Cup, there would have been a lot more revelry in public. The trophy ceremony was pretty muted other than Tiger grabbing the Cup right away.

Here's a couple of looks at the course from today's play...

Ya know, I thought I heard something on Thursday during the broadcast...like, some serious heavy breathing. But I was busy in our control room and didn't perk up to ask people to zip it so we could take a closer listen. If it's there today, I'll do some more investigating.
