"Eight quarters into the new season..."

That was messing with my brain for a few minutes. Thought they meant to say 1/8 into the new season.

I'm not an expert, but it seems like the MLB is in the process of dropping right where that pass would need to be thrown, the the DB at the edge of the circle also would've read that option if Trubisky stuck with it...

Bad accuracy and inability to read defense or move on from the first option or check down have plagued Mitch since he entered the league. Canada being a terrible OC puts everyone behind the eight ball, but Mitch compiles the issues instead of dragging the team away from them. By most punditry the line has been fine, especially yesterday. Najee is doing a bad job reading his blocks and the sacks have been a result of Mitch being an idiot. Working to improve a 28 year old journeyman QB instead of spending the time on your first round pick QB of the future is beyond idiotic decision making, but one is one we should all expect to continue to endure based on what this franchise and its brain trust has devolved into.

The photo is..... correct, but misleading imo.

The circle is Muth's YAC window. The throw window is in between the NE defenders who have their backs to each other at the 13-14 YL. Without seeing video I don't know what the shallow guy does, but it looks like he's maybe a spy on Trubisky (or else he's badly fudged the handoff to the deeper coverage). If the ball is thrown to the circle 91 has a play.

Trubisky has a free rusher in his face coming off the edge, and throwing in behind the blitz is a totally normal read....... that said, I don't think that's a blitz, just piss poor O-line play. It looks blocked up - 4 against 4 - and yet.

I have little issue with Najee bouncing things outside. He doesn’t trust his line - which he shouldn’t- so he takes his life in his own hands and tries to get the edge where he can murderize some DB instead of no name OG letting a DL go immediately and getting blindsided.

Hey Mitch. You’re the QB, the guy that should lead. Change the **** play, stop throwing off your back foot, and take some shots.

Hell use your legs, run a boot, set, and launch. Let Claypool, Pickens, or Johnson make a play. There’s also the whole PI angle.

Rex Grossman sucked bad BUT he took shots and went to an Owl on the back of a great defense… sounds similar.

Joe Flacco, Mr. Average, won an Owl on taking shots and getting PI calls.

You’re not good enough to play like Alex Smith and you don’t have the offensive genius of Andy Reid play calling for you. So use your strengths and tell Canada to **** off and go back to the kiddie pool.

At this rate Mitch is playing himself out of the league. If for nothing else than self preservation you’d think he’d be open to going off script. Worst that happens is he gets benched and throws Canada under the bus. Best case is a win or going out on your shield.

Current play is like death by a thousand cuts.

his current play is 2-0 if Gunner could catch a ball
Mitch stinks but he is doing what he's asked to do and hasn't buried us yet. I don't think we'd much enjoy seeing "off script" Mitch

How many teams have a receiver room with the physical tools of a DJ, CC, and GP. It seems like a lot of teams have maybe a version of one of them, or maybe two if they're lucky. But to have all three is uncommon.

Maybe it's not that easy, but it shouldn't be this hard, either.

And to that point I guess is where we differ. Yes, Mitch is calling the plays as they are sent in. So in that sense, I guess you could say he's "doing what he's asked to do". But he is not executing them at an NFL QB1 level, and as such is very much is an active part of burying the team.

Put differently: He is what we thought he was. This is Mitchell Trubisky in the NFL, this is how he plays football.

They held a visiting team to 17 points. Even with a muffed punt, merely average play should be able to eek out a second offensive TD with the tools at their disposal.

I’m surprised by the lack of scrambling ability. I thought Trubisky would be able to pick up first downs with his legs once in a while. Through 2 games he’s been slightly more mobile than Big Ben.

If the muffed pint never happens we likely still lose. Patriots final drive finishes in points instead of a kneel down. We’ll never know.

An Offensive performance like that (QB, OC, scheme, etc) doesn’t deserve to be rewarded with a W anyways. Would just reinforce to the coaching staff that this 1930s era offensive philosophy can work in 2022. It can’t.

A friend of mine dated a girl that cheated on him with Jimmy G while the Niners practiced in Youngstown for a week. Unfortunately she's newscaster in LA now

We have Chloe Couture in Lancaster that two of my kids probably went to school with. She's A list now that she's on that HBO show.
