Slovis has to be the worst Super Panther QB in my lifetime.
How quickly we forget Tino and Dinucci
Oh they were both considered. Tino looks like a hall of famer compared to Slovis.

Didn't watch. Was this another bad win? I mean 7-4 overall is ok. But still....

But if you're asking if they tried really hard to lose but still won? Yeah

They kind of manhandled Duke all game. And also tried to lose (Slovis) and got lucky with Duke fumbles.

Rumors on PL is that over the last 2-3 weeks, a lot of the veteran defensive players - many of whom we expected to leave after this year - have strongly considered coming back. That supposedly includes just about everyone. It's a little tough to find confirmation of this because the roster doesn't really list the COVID year stuff clearly but on defense, I think the only ones who are definitely done are Alexandre, Wiltz, and Maloney. Everyone else can potentially come back.

A lot will depend on what they all hear back from NFL people over the next couple of months, but apparently the only two drawing any significant "NFL Draft" interest are Kancey & Dennis. Kancey is fighting the "size concern" issue, which no amount of tape is unfortunately going to do much to mitigate. Dennis is supposedly rated about a 5th-7th round pick at best right now, which seems ridiculously low to me given his athleticism and production. Maybe there are size and injury concerns there? Maybe I'm just biased because I've seen the plays he's made the last couple of years and I'm not comparing it accurately to other players. I didn't think he was a first-rounder, but I thought he had definitely played his way into 2nd-4th round territory. Apparently that's not the case.

I get the feeling this offseason is going to be very "hot stove"-ish as compared to previous ones.

Cancey should leave. I'm surprised that Dennis has such a low grade in the draft. I hope the rest of those guys return because we will need the depth.

Interesting. I always thought Kancey was a big dude was he's listed as 6' and 280, which puts him slightly smaller than AD during his draft year. The size concerns with Dennis doesn't surprise me because our LBs always seemed undersized to me. He's a **** baller though and will outperform in the show if he's a late round pick.

Seeing Bentley, Danielson, and Green on that list is nice because I love our DL depth, but I really worry about losing Johnson, Donald, FitzSimmons due to lack of opportunity.

In other news, the Women's Soccer lost 3-0 to FSU last night. What a season for them.

So. With one game left (plus a bowl), here we are at 7-4. Was this season disappointing? Hell yeah. Most of the defense came back, the whole line, skill players galore, and a QB that wasn't going to be KSP but hopefully just good enough. Spoiler alert he wasn't.

But if they beat Miami and win a bowl game is 9-4 all that bad? It's still a decent year and maybe something to build on. 20 wins in two years. I think we've all said Pitt should be an 8-9 win team in the ACC with an occasional year like last year when the stars align. It was a bummer seeing the illusion of a back to back conference championship type run come crashing down so quick, but I'd be somewhat happy ending on a good note.

Also, next year might suck. I think Cignetti has to go. No one wants to play in this god forsaken offensive scheme.

Yeah if they manage to win the next two games I'll give a grudging head nod of respect but it will just remind me how much better it could have been.

Looking back I’m amazed they nearly beat Tennessee. So yeah, I’ll take 9-4 and a bowl win

They will lose to Miami and lose their crappy 2nd or 3rd tier bowl.

This season has been awful, not fun to watch at all and should end in sadness and disappointment.

This is a disappointing season.

A. This team is supposed to compete for coastal championships. That aint asking for much. This team was out of the coastal race in mid October. Not good.

B. Izzy was the only guy that got noticeably better.

C. Not a season where you can point at a guy and say “this is the future.” Izzy, Dennis, Cancey are all old and/or gone next year (i dont care about eligibility). No breakout players at WR. All the good players on the line are old. The secondary is the secondary. Does anyone have anything interesting to say about the LBs? No.

D. If they win 9 games and sneak into the top 25, id say that is an accomplishment. But this is a mediocre team playing another mediocre team in Miami and then another mediocre team in a bowl game. Pitt is already on a win streak, hard to believe this team is good enough to end on a 5 game win streak.

He will either get paid in the nfl or get paid by a college team with more money. Dude’s money making clock is already ticking, he needs to cash out. Either way, do you think he really wants to carry the ball 25 times a game right now? I doubt it. He can get paid more to get beat up less somewhere else.

Yea that's why I am kind of leaning towards this season sucking. Doesn't look like much progressed, and would likely lose Izzy and Bartholomew.

Well, he's a bright spot TE - who they don't utilize for ****. I'm gone if I was him. They don't appear to have any other TEs, and Pitt hasn't been good enough to keep skill guys for really any length of time.

Wow. If we win out, (which we won't beat Miami), and finish 9-4 with 3 of those losses to current top 25 teams, with the injuries earlier this year, etc, and it considered sucky, then I don't know what to say. This is Pitt. We are not a blue blood.
