It's not just the songs, it's the music generally.A documentary about theme songs. How overrated can a movie series get?

alright there was a discussion about this in the Super Bowl thread but let’s make it official
MTOP: what is your favorite month of the sports calendar?
well, my comment was the next two months is the best stretch, so idk I have to think now
MTOP: what is your favorite month of the sports calendar?
I voted October time from, although it should maybe be more November. Got NFL, NHL, CFB, and CBB, along with fall sports I like watching for Pitt like soccer and volleyball all going on at once.
Second favorite would be end of March/early April with March Madness and NHL playoffs coming up, along with spring sports like Pitt baseball and softball.

it's march or april i just don't know which one
mid-march through mid-april is the undisputed champ

Yeah, my votes would be in a month timeframe, but not a clean cut month. So mid October/mid November and/or mid March/mid April.it's march or april i just don't know which one

What ulf said. Went with April because of the masters and the start of the NHL playoffs.
Honestly, the rest of you are **** wrong and should feel bad about yourselves for being that wrong

i'm thinking April. first weekend of March Madness is the best weekend of the year - but the final four is April, NHL playoffs, Masters, baseball.. probably beats march madness opening weekend and the Players

October.
Motor racing is winding down and the final championship picture is forming. Football is in pink shoes mode. Hockey and European soccer have just gotten underway. And for stupid things: baseball is about to go away, college sports have started, and basketball is once again.
October has everything, whether you like it or not.

I mostly agree with tifosi, but I'm moving one month later to November. The F1 season is in the final stretch, hockey and football are both underway, baseball is over and gone, and the Fukuoka sumo tournament on Kyushu winds up sumo for the year.

You kidding? December. NFL in the stretch run. Random bowl games and CBB games all effing day for half the month. NHL and NBA regular season. All kinds of soccer.
Best event is in March. Best month December, not even close.

You guys actually watch soccer? That’s so far out of the equation for me. I don’t even know when soccer season is.

I mean, one of the longer threads on the site is devoted to it.... but I'd say the same for people watching cars driving in circles and people walking around hitting a tiny white ball with a stick on TV so YMMV.

April, the beginning of baseball season when hope runs eternal....then dashed weeks later.
MTOP: what is your favorite month of the sports calendar?
The biggest problem with December is that it is in December.
MTOP: what is your favorite month of the sports calendar?
Ah yes. Those rough 68 degree Californian December days.
MTOP: what is your favorite month of the sports calendar?
It was 39 degrees (Fahrenheit!) the other day when I woke up. Outside.

MTOP: what is your favorite month of the sports calendar?
Hmm. TIL there is a soccer thread here. I also have no interest in watching racing or golf on tv. Actually now that I think about it, my level of sports viewing on tv has dwindled as I’ve gotten older.I mean, one of the longer threads on the site is devoted to it.... but I'd say the same for people watching cars driving in circles and people walking around hitting a tiny white ball with a stick on TV so YMMV.

MTOP: would you see/have you seen an opera?
a funny thing happened and it got me thinking…
in 2018 I went to Sydney Australia and one of the things I wanted to and ended up doing was not just seeing the outside of the Sydney Opera House but seeing an actual opera in it. Thankfully Aida was playing when I was there and it was an awesome time
Randomly on Sunday I got thinking of how cool it would be if I saw an opera with songs that I actually knew; didn’t know any from Aida before seeing it live. So I googled “Carmen live shows”, which has two pretty famous songs, and saw the first result was of the Lyric Opera House in Chicago. Extremely coincidentally, there is a show on Wednesday, March 15…which is when I was planning on being in Chicago for work anyway. So excitedly I bought a ticket
but what amuses me is I told my coworkers who will also be in Chicago that week and all of them said they had no interested in seeing an opera. Now that I come to think of it, I don’t think I know anyone who would want to see an opera at all. F*cking philistines
so I’m curious, how cultured is 5AF?

meow is pro-opera. I like to pretend to be high society. It’s like cos-play for people that actually shower
