Good. That's what everyone should be doing to the shift.

The shift is going away and I'm looking forward to singles coming back.

It's mildly encouraging that they effectively swapped out Andujar for Chavis, keeping both of those lottery ticket guys again for next season would suck.

Chavis is a lottery ticket. Andujar has actually succeeded as a baseball player and there's at least a non-zero chance that he can become an effective major league hitter

I don't see any meaningful difference there. Andujar has been terrible for a long time and his one good season sure seems to be the outlier at this point. Chavis' problem is that his ceiling is low, so it's just not worth keeping him around to see if he reaches that low ceiling

Andujar had pedigree as the #59 prospect in baseball and finished 2nd in ROY voting behind the best player in MLB history. Then lost the next 2 years to injury and struggled to earn regular playing time as part of his recovery on a stacked Yankees team.

Chavis had a negative career WAR before coming to the Pirates.

They are not the same.

Statcast just showed a cool thing during the Bucco game that I've never really seen or heard mentioned even. Total feet traveled on a double. Suwinski hit a double and traveled six less feet than India's double because of the angle he took on the basepaths. Good stuff

Yeah, he just stood there, too, watching it. Not sure if he could've stretched it into a triple, but not a good look for a waiver wire pickup.

I was at the game last night. He would have been out by 4 or 5 feet if the reds IF didn't bobble the cutoff throw.

Anduar had a hell of a ten minute stretch in that game. He swung at a 3-0 pitch (right before he hit the double), pimped a home run and almost got thrown out at second, then got caught stealing third for the third out of an inning

It's hard to fit that much idiocy in one ten minute stretch This Is The Way

I wanted to read what Yankee fans said about this guy, so perused a couple articles and comments. This fits the bill. The guy has one talent (maybe), and cannot be taught. Exactly what the Pirates need.

i'll chalk it up to the above, probably just felt he made such good contact. No harm done imo, he wasn't getting a triple. Now if this turns into a trend then he will get the internet wrath of ulf

I'd have far less of a problem with pimping if it wasn't sandwiched between two far more moronic decisions
