Agreed. A little monotone for my liking.

Neil Walker is good in the booth.
He is. Kevin Young is not.
Agreed. Young seems like a nice guy but he's too laid back.

Yea Walker is good. Big improvement over who they’ve had in recent years.

Ultimately it's probably the difference between 65 and 70 wins, but it's really astonishing to me how easy it could have been for BC to put a better team on the field.

That like Perez, Vogelbach and Quintana have all been effective in significant roles, and cost basically nothing is aggravating to me.

There is nothing to fall back on with Tsutsugo being dog-****.
Tucker is still getting at-bats
Castillo and Suwinski have no business being on major league rosters right now, let alone getting at bats.
Marisnick and Van Meter have over 90 at bats and are combining for like a 420 OPS.
On the pitching side...there isn't a ton to complaint about yet. Just that they should have actual major league quality pitchers over Fletcher, Yajure and Hembree.

It's still early. It takes 6 or 8 weeks before teams settle in so usually the bad teams have better records than they should and the good teams have worse records than they should. And not enough if a sample to evaluate players either

yeah, i don't think quintana or vogelbach are going to hold up these numbers all year.

But it's probably something like 20-25% of the roster is just absolute trash, and merely brining in a replacement level $2mm vet (like the two above mentioned guys) would be a huge marginal improvement, and better guys to bridge the gap for when they turn the roster spots over to prospects later in the year.

They had to go to their third string catcher after Perez got hurt, and Knapp got ejected for chirping the umpire from the dugout. Josh VanMeter played catcher for the first time since high school.

Not a winning formula imo

Mid Keller again. Yikes. It seemed every batter he started 2-0. Only made it 4.1 innings. Not sustainable.

Lots of home runs, including 3 in the first inning...which has never happened before for the Pirates. That's nuts.

Couldnt be happier to see Colin Moran come up in a big spot with that home run. Good for him, always had a soft spot in my heart for the guy

At this point, next year's roster could have:

Cruz
Swaggerty
Bae
Davis
Gonzales
Peguero
Martin
Roansy

Should at least be intriguing to watch. The opposite of Gamel/Yoshi/VanMeter etc
