The Buccos are Apple TV+ for free tonight, FWIW. It's Adam Wainwright for the Cards, so it will be another shutout.

Gr8 opportunity to bring up one of my better posts on 5af/lgp:
I was #blessed to be at the game last night. That lineup was uniquely qualified to be madduxed by a 39 year old.

Hoy Park (has he ever had to face a crafty guy, or is the minor leagues just stuffed by guys throwing as hard as humanly possible)
Hayes (in a rut, clearly the type of gain wainwright is capable of exploiting at this juncture)
Reynolds (grown up, got hosed on bad call striking out looking, hit the ball hard in other at bats)
Moran (2 hits, his stupid 2 strike approach with every swing works well against someone like wainwright)
Castro (swings as hard as he can, literally the worst approach you can have in the situation)
Alford (warning track power, good approach)
Perez (see castro)
Kevin Newman subbed in on a double switch and was 0-2. clearly you can't fight fire (i.e. soft stuff) with fire (soft hitting) in this case.

also, "Cody Ponce" gives up more hard contact than any pirate pitcher in recent memory. guys consistently sht all over him

lets not forget that wil crowe gave up a double to wainwright, too.

Somewhere on the 3rd base line, I think. Bunch of family came into town so there's a whole group of us

Yeah, but it’s free. Just need an iTunes account.

I think they have a game on Peacock this weekend as well…that one isn’t free.

I'm more annoyed at sports coverage being splintered between all these streaming services.

It's really something listened to Shelton mushmouth his way around the lack of depth on the MLB roster and why Cherington won't call one of the youngsters up to do anything in the place of Yoshi and VanMeter. Variations of "don't want to hurt development" and "get their swings/reps in as starters in the lower leagues" are tiresome at this point.

Vogelbach is day to day with a "lower body injury," and of course the Pirates only have 12 non-pitchers on the 26 man roster. So Yoshi it is at DH.

How many times this season have we seen the opponents starter go 6-7 innings, while the Pirates use 3-4 limp dick hybrid BP pitchers in this time frame. It's maddening.

@Faftorial the game today is on Peacock. Not free, either. Weird 11:30 am start. But not worth tuning in now, as the Pirates are getting bombed.

I forgot to turn it on earlier, but it sounds like there's a main neutral PBP guy and then a color analyst from each team. Cool idea. Bob Walk is in for the Pirates, but is not pleased to have to converse about and defend this team/regime.

Yeah, I went to put in on around 2pm and nothing again. I see the score now and we didn't miss anything.
