OK, it's time for some Pirates trivia.

We (finally) got to a Myrtle Beach Pelicans game the other night, which is the Low-A Carolina League affiliate of the Cubs. Boo.

They have an alumni wall of all of the players that made it to the MLB. It was a Braves and then Rangers affiliate before switching to the Cubs in 2014.

I was surprised to see three Pirates players who made their MLB debuts had also passed through Myrtle Beach. All within the last 7 seasons or so.

Who were they?

That seven years is confusing. So is that saying they all debuted for the Pirates starting in 2015?

Yes. The 2015 player was the only one who played a significant role for the Pirates.

Wait a minute. It's actually 2011. I think the Pelicans wall is wrong. The 2011 debut player was the only one of the three that played a significant role on the Pirates.

Yeah, based on the affiliate timeline my thoughts were
Jeff Locke and Keona Kela
for two, and the third i would guess is either
Gorkys or Morton

Man, Lastings Milledge hasn't played baseball in forever. Random thought.

Nope. One of the players was a Braves prospect, the other two were Rangers (one drafted by another AL team though).

Went through year by year.

Kela pitched there in 2014.

The random Pirates that have played on that team include Gosselin, Bostick and Underwood.

Bostick is another one, back in 2017. Forgot about him completely. Played for the Pirates and Marlins for parts of two seasons, and is retired from baseball.

These are Pelicans players that made their debuts in the MLB with the Pirates.

Nick Gonzales sent to the FCL for rehab, so good chance he's back up to Altoona before end of season.

Might need to take a ride out once that happens. Hopefully Davis will be back too

9 total Ks in last night's game. That's gotta be one of the lowest of the season

I think bostick at one point was a higher rated prospect than Bryan Reynolds
