It's kinda neat to look at the lineup card and be interested in the first 7 names

Newman up, Castillo down
Yoshi for madris or Mitchell
Van meter for park

If Cruz is sent down again, need to start sending bomb threats to pnc park

Unless he plays like crap for a month or so he won't be sent down again.

But it almost seems like you would enjoy it if he is sent down again.

Bligh seems like a Garrett Jones maybe. Like, no one ever mentioned this dude. Then he comes up and hits 20 homers and you look at his minor league stats and it's like oh this guy actually was pretty good all along

I don't understand why you are fighting this. Their starting SS has been injured for something like 2 months, they have been playing absolutely terrible options at the position for that entire time while Cruz has been held down. Lest we forget, Cruz had a great ST, he should have broke camp with the team, or at worst, kept in Indy through April. Service time manipulation, which is of course sop for MLB teams, would have extended that till the end of May. Okay, fine. But then just hold him back for another three weeks? And during those three weeks, this team did not have a shortstop. Just make-a-wish kid Diego Castillo and that scrub from Cleveland. In that stretch, where there was no plausible motive for keeping their top prospect in Indy, they went 5-12.

Seems like an energy guy, might be good to have around. So when the **** brigade return (Newman, Yoshi, Van Meter), Hopefully that is instead Park, Chang and Mitchell that get sent down. I mean, no reason to have Mitchell around to sit on the bench, get him abs in Indy. Pretty clear that Suwinski has significant separation from him and is still a starter even when Gamel returns.

Will be attending a Pirates game tomorrow for the first time in I think like 4-5 years. Taking my son to his first game. I feel like I have to take him once, while he's still young so we can get some pictures.

Madris was always old for his levels and performed well below average for a prospect. He's one of those fun late bloomers that isn't any good until he's 26. He's on fire. Hopefully he's legit.

Watching this game today. Bligh looks real bad against lefties, probably tops out as platoon guy.

In an effort to not bash him it seems like i hyped madris. I don't expect him to succeed at the majors.

Cruz is hitting .188 what a bum
So that's the one thing I noticed yesterday during the game. With people over like 25 bats in the majors this season, the entirety of the Pirates are dogshit at hitting. Is that the normal for MLB or are the Pirates just that bad?

That being said, that Cruz double looked ridiculous because of how low-effort it seemed. Also, he looks goofy being that tall playing shortstop.

Batting averages are down this year but I can't imagine any other team features 3 batters hitting under .200 in their lineup.

Pirates are batting 221. 28th in the league.

That's two hits every nine batters.

With a dh

Also leaguewide, the average is 242. 8 hits, 8 strikeouts per game. Awesome sport

The Cruz thing was a joke. Looking at averages after 3 or 4 games whatever is dumb

But yes, the pirates also can't hit as a whole really besides Reynolds and Young Hayes

Well that's why I excluded him. In my mind - I'd rather that guy swing for the fences, because him and Reynolds are like the two guys who can do it.

More or less, Yu Chang at DH when his BA was .188 was honestly offensive to me.

more offensive going by the stats, lmao. But yea - all those guys need DFA'd and they should have a constant carousel of people until they get guys over .220 at least.

That was because it was a left-handed starter. Yu Chang at DH is what happens right now when they want to sit Vogelbach against a left-handed starter.

That was Castillo, which is equally offensive.

Chang and Castillo might be plants to make Newman look better.
