I enjoyed Pittsburgh media going apeshit over a packed house. Some of those dudes were trying real hard to tie it to the Pirates, and basically omitting that it was the f*ckin Yankees in town.

Baseball teams love measuring stuff. You know, sabrmetrics and sht. One would think this organization would use some metrics to calculate that when the Yankees, red Sox, or piles Phillies come to town, there are more fans. Ergo, staffing levels should change. Alas, that doesn't happenFun game. It was packed. Half Yankees fans I'd guess. 2 full innings in line to get nachos. Staff seemed flummoxed

That would require hiring more people, which means paying more people, which means it ain’t happening.Baseball teams love measuring stuff. You know, sabrmetrics and sht. I'm always surprised at the number of fat nerdy white guys working downtown who wear a pirate ball cap to go along with their sloppy business casual. Just as many young nerds as old nerds, too.

FFS, I checked the score in the fifth inning and I think it was still 2-0 or 4-0. Woke up to find the final score was 16-0. Yikes.
Again, a position player pitching after the game was all but done and adding to the Yankees' run total. Remember when position player pitching was kind of rare? It seems to happen every series now.
And then Yoshi can't catch a fairly normal throw to first for an easy E3. Why is he playing over anyone?

I really don't like the idea of a position player pitching. I know it's done to preserve the bullpen, but that should be more punishment of the team rather than the position player doing it.FFS, I checked the score in the fifth inning and I think it was still 2-0 or 4-0. Would force more BP rotations, call-ups, etc. Would also continue to punish the team for being bad.

shelton does not remove ineffective pitchers until it's absolutely necessary. It's like a minor league game...once a reliever in there, he's going to work his inning or hit his pitch count, whichever comes first and without a concern of how many runs he surrenders. It doesn't matter if it's a close game or a blowout...they are trying to get a guy to finish an inning no matter what. The function of the pen is to comple innings. Management of the pen indicates that there is no interest in using the pen to keep games close
I dont blame Shelton though. I think that choice is coming from the GM.

That reminds me. Is there any update on Cam Vieux? Is he still in the ICU? Did DK’s thoughts and prayers and dodinting and moaning and sensationalism help him pull through the tragedy of throwing a ball too many times?

It's funny that bleeding heart DK completely ignored the fact that the Mgr doesn't wanna show guys up by pulling them for a position player
