I would be searching for a new daycare, personally.

We're on the list of two other places, but we're hearing near the same things with staffing issues.

So freaking thankful that we found a well functioning daycare...

Daycare has been an absolute sh*tshow since COVID. It was solid to great up until then, and then it's just a year plus of just nonsense.

I would be very hesitant to switch daycares right now. This seems like a prime example of the grass isn’t always greener

Our daycare was very accommodating when they shut down Fridays. Initially they said nobody could switch days, but once we wrote a sob story letter they said, “How about Monday?”

There have been times when I’ve been frustrated with them, but then realize they probably aren’t making a killing and these 20-somethings would rather be doing something more productive with their lives, yet are great caregivers for our kids. So I just STFU and take it up the arse when they raise tuition for the 4th time in a year

That's basically where we're at. We're on the list, but it's going to be a long time even before we're considered since they're all having issues. I'm hoping it sorts itself out, but I've spent more money watching my own kid than I'd like to do.

My daughter passed her dairy challenge last week and is no longer allergic. She is such a food fanatic, and has spent 9 years not eligible for one of life’s great pleasures.

Walking through the super market and saying “Yes!” To everything she’s ever wanted to eat and hearing her excitedly say how she’s like a “normal kid” now…it was maybe my favorite moment as a parent so far.

The kicker is that my wife & I have also been avoiding it for 9 years because our systems weren’t tolerating it, with our auto immune issues. But now it appears we can both eat dairy too. So now we went from zero cheese in the house to about 85% of the fridge space occupied by it.

That's awesome. God I love dairy.

I recently had to give up gluten. Probably for good.

As an individual with an iron gut and can eat anything with little ill effect… I’d give up dairy before gluten, I think.

I’m almost completely gluten free. Breakfast is the biggest hurdle. Everything else is easy. I occasionally smash a large pizza myself then border on death the next day.

I'd go the other way. Too many things that are dairy that are bad at being fake dairy. Fake gluten has come a long way

Bread/rolls..there’s just no substitute. Struggling to think of anything else that is now ruined for me.

Found a brick oven pizza place that has a GF crust that I can’t tell the difference.

Biggest gripe is that I can’t find a Chinese place that uses GF soy sauce in their cooking. It’s aggravating, since it’s just swapping one ingredient, using the same ratios. But I guess they make all those sauces in bulk. Wonder if a hibachi place could be any better (not Chinese, I know)

Frischetta (sp?) has a gluten free frozen pizza that is the best frozen pizza I’ve ever had.

My kid got sent home today for "puking". Went and picked him up and asked if he's feeling sick. "dad I just choked on my hot dog"... Okay buddy. Let's go get ice cream

They gave a kid your age a hot dog? 100% would be beating on doors with that. I don't typically care that much about things, but a hot dog if not cut properly is pretty dangerous, especially in a group setting.

I think it's largely different for me. At home? Hot dog away when I can focus on just one kid and they have my attention.

Hot dogs in group settings? That's like multiple choke hazards at once, and the teachers can't pay 100% attention 100% of the time. I just don't like that, especially for the 1-3 range.

We'll send hot dogs into daycare from time to time, but we cut them up at home first. No different than chicken nuggets or basically anything solid for that matter.

Yeah, he's 3.. Idk, he gets a Hotdog at our house but has the option to have it cut up if he wwants. I just looked at the menu and it says the toddlers (under 3) get chicken nuggets on Hotdog days.

He has a terrible gag reflex and threw up then. At least this was his side of the story. He is three.. he calls puking "choking" anyway.
