Our daughter keeps telling us a tooth is wiggly because she has some friends that are starting to lose baby teeth Wishful thinking on her part.
5AF Parenting Thread
Oof, at 6 months in, our son has three teeth popped through. He's not freaking out or anything, and I had thought it was really painful for them.Kiddo finally popped out a tooth. 14 months. At least we can stop worrying a bit. The doc said we had until 15 months. At that point they’d need to do some testing to make sure everything was good.

My kid just went through another growth spurt. 37” tall at 19 months.
Still growing at .5 inches per month. He could be close to 40 inches tall at 2 at his current rate.

That's ridiculous. My kids are in the 90+ percentile for height, and my 3.5 year old comes in at about 40".My kid just went through another growth spurt. 37” tall at 19 months.

Our (5 1/2 year old) daughter is at 49" now, which is crazy to me. She towers over other kids in her class...no idea where she gets it from.

There was an awful story over the weekend here of a one-year old killed in a golf cart accident.
Then last night their neighbor (speaking for the family) had the audacity to blame pot holes on the street.
Couldn't have been the alcohol or riding 7 people on the golf cart at max speed.
Totally the town of Mooresville's fault. #grindmygearsparentingmashup

Havent had uninterrupted sleep in 2 weeks now. Not sure what the deal is. Presumably a growth spurt. Kid wakes up at 2AM to eat. Used to sleep all night up until ~8 months. now he's pushing 9 and just has insatiable appetite

Have you started adding something like rice cereal to the bedtime formula or milk bottle?Havent had uninterrupted sleep in 2 weeks now. Not sure what the deal is. Presumably a growth spurt. That helped for us as it was more filling and held both of them over longer than just a bottle.

I thought rice stuff was bad? Arsenic or something......

Yeah we have that. I'm not sure it must not be bad. My wife may just be the weirdo

But...from their reviews: (See what you doctor says about mixing it in the bottle. There are wider cut nipples for thicker consistency.)
My little one was insatiable and breast milk and/or formula was not cutting it. I started mixing in the rice cereal with every bottle- just a little. He loves it and is much more comfortable, happy when he is awake and is now "sleeping like a baby"

We're glad to hear that your son is doing well on our cereal. Just a reminder, we do not recommend feeding cereal from a bottle unless specifically instructed by your baby’s doctor.

In any case, something more substantial before bed makes for a sleepier baby.

I used a fork to make the nipple wider.

As long as you don’t give the kid 10 servings of rice cereal a day, I think they’ll be fine.

Very likely that lil Mac has a dairy allergy. First noticed he got hives after sampling some froyo. Then happened again when he ate some baby yogurt. He had his 9 mos check up yesterday and we mentioned it to doc. She suggested my wife drink a lot of milk then feed him and he got a slight rash again. So now I guess it's blood testing to confirm. Sure hope the lil guy ends up growing out of it.

Our daughter has always been a very responsible kid. When she was barely a toddler, she used to re-lock the child locks on our kitchen cabinets when we left them undone So you can imagine my surprise when out of the blue, she told me that she flushed her underwear down the toilet at some point this week.

Tax related parenting question.
We have a dependent care FSA maxed out to $5k annually.
We spend over $5k on daycare. I want to reimburse myself for all my kids doctor visits thus far as well.
If I reimburse myself for $300 in Dr visits, and $4700 in daycare, can I also claim 'total daycare dollars' minus $4700 on my taxes for child care credit at the end of the year?
Is there a strategy to maximize the non-daycare reimbursements for the dependent care FSA so that a larger child care tax credit can be realized?

Got nothing to do with responsibility. Kids are kids, and are curious more than anything. Our daughter has always been a very responsible kid. lol, for sure. I just found the dichotomy hilarious.Got nothing to do with responsibility. Kids are kids, and are curious more than anything.
We were down in the basement the other night watching a movie and I heard dripping...I panicked and my mind instantly went to the worst possible scenario, that her underwear got stuck in the pipe somewhere and it burst. Turns out it was just the dehumidifier
