we made everything for both our kids. this means i often put chicken in a blender and made a vile, vile soup.We are going to start making baby meow’s food this weekend. Anyone else make baby food?
but it worked out well. very cheap, and lots of options.

We didn't make our own food, but with regards to the storage containers, most of the ones I've seen have these weird tabs; they don't work as well as traditional Rubbermaid containers, IMO. I'd probably go with something similar to this, personally: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N6KZMUO
Target sells similar ones with blue lids that we do use for our daughter, and I'd recommend those, as well.

These are too big for an infant and too expensive. i can't find the cheapo ones we used, but we also used these:We didn't make our own food, but with regards to the storage containers, most of the ones I've seen have these weird tabs; they don't work as well as traditional Rubbermaid containers, IMO. which were very good, but they have a gasket which makes them a PITA to clean, when you're doing like 4 or 5 a day.

Yeah, those are too big, but I'm referring to the overall design. They make smaller versions.

Glass storage ones? I guess you could, but you're going to pay a premium for them. If you're crazy worried about BPA, even on BPA-free stuff, I guess that's the route you were always going to take, no?

you are going to want to have like 50 of these. glass probably doesn't stack as well in your freezer and it's more expensive, but glass is awesome - yesGlass is the supreme material when it comes to all things food

I actually do have some insight on that which I can't completely share...
There's a push to replace a lot of glass containers with plastic... the issue is when there's an acidic component to the contents (see: tomato sauce), plastic doesn't work too well as it starts leaching into the contents of the jar. We're working with a company that seems to have solved the issue. So, don't be surprised to see more and more plastic containers without the plastic taste coming out in the near future.

Our daughter was always in the 95+ percentile for both height and weight. Even now, at 4 1/2, she dwarfs plenty of five year old boys in her class. No idea where it comes from.

It’s pretty obvious we would have a gigantic kid. I’m 6’5” and my wife is 6’.

My son's bus was 20 minutes late this morning, so I decided to drive him to school (which made me 45 minutes late to work). Evidently, the bus was in an accident shortly before his stop. No word on injuries, but my wife sent pictures (she's a teacher in the district and got them from the transportation supervisor) of the bus and the SUV that was involved, and it didn't look too serious.
So, on my way out of my neighborhood, I picked up my neighbor's daughter, who is also on that bus. Between my son and neighbor, they texted around and we ended up picking up 4 more kids that were out in the rain waiting on a bus that wasn't coming. Minivan paid for itself again...

There were 9 kids at my house this morning. Monday through Friday in the mornings trying to get out the door for work is basically like reliving the beginning of Home Alone for me.

Our Odyssey turns ten next month, has 125K miles on it, and I hope to get another few years out of it. That being said, we'll probably go the midsized SUV route next time around - Pilot, more than likely.

I'm already thinking about later in life when kids are grown, will I still be buying a minivan? I believe the answer is yes.
