Congrats daddy shad! No matter how many you have, that moment of sheer joy when they are born is unexplainable.

Thanks guys! Mom is doing great. She is sleeping right now and I'm holding him in the chair. I forgot how much I love these snuggles during sleep. Absolutely heart melting.

It's funny. She has had mixed emotions and a lot of nervousness and fear leading up. But when she came in and saw him, her eyes just lit up and she was so excited to hold him. That said, plenty of time for jealousy down the roadHow about big sister's reaction? Thanks guys! Mom is doing great. She is sleeping right now and I'm holding him in the chair. Well... we did it. Made some connections and have some people coming to meet us, our daughter, and our dogs to potentially be baby sitters for us on the rare occasions we want to get out and have a date.

They came over and aren't serial killer or puppy kickers, but they won't be invited back. Was a mother and two daughters and the daughters were going to be the sitter(s). My daughter is the friendliest kid in the world... we invited them in to talk a bit and she brought over one of her blocks to give to them. They just stared at her like "yeah, cool kiddo." So she put it down at their feet, and I like to think that her thought process was "hmmm, they just don't like that color, I'll go grab another one." She brought the other over and tried to hand it to them. No dice. It was like she was begging them to play with her and they just stood there and stared at her... NEXT!Well... we did it. Every time we're in the nursery and my wife or I say, "Alexa, ......" our 8 month old turns his head to look at the dot on the wall waiting for Alexa to reply as soon as he hears we say the name.
Not sure if I'm proud or ashamed. Maybe a little of both.
