From damn near the get go lil mac's been a good sleeper. He's a maniac after his bath now, for like a half hour. Takes him that long to drink his milk. When he was a few months younger, he'd chug the milk and instantly go to sleep. Now it's a half hour to drink the milk and fall asleep 20 mins later. We just start the process earlier now, that's all.
One thing I’ve learned about kids is that as soon as you think you are settled into a routine, they change it.

Another parent at school apparently yelled at my daughter this morning, including using foul language. My daughter was goofing around in line and bumping into others, so she wasn’t following directions. Still, that is unacceptable. I emailed the teacher to make sure that this is being dealt with.

Double WTF. My daughter turns six tomorrow.

Like you said, sometimes kids that age are fooling around and doing dumb things, I cannot even fathom directing curses at a child that age. The only time I've really swore in front of my daughter was when I smashed my toe a month ago on her soccer net (which still hurts to this day) and let out a "Damn it!". That's not cool man.

I curse like a sailor, and my daughter knows it's wrong and scolds me all the time. My issue is less with the use of a curse word out loud and more so that it was directed at her.

In other news, Halloween may be washed out entirely in our area, as they're now calling for thunderstorms from 5-8pm.

Ugh, no kidding. I see wind gusts over 40 mph? That sucks.

Daycare asked if my daughter was dressing up for halloween today. I said "Yup, we plan on it." "And what is she going to be?" Then three sets of eyes point directly at me with that WELL?!?!?! face... I said "A ladybug" and they all groaned a bit and one lady said "We guessed dinosaur." It was the weirdest interaction I've had with them.

lol our kid has 7 teeth, and most days he's fine - two nights ago we all got like 3 hours of sleep, was non-stop crying.

We used those Hyland teething tablets for a few weeks, then didn't need them any longer. She wasn't too fussy in that regard.

It is an indescribably good feeling when you get a newborn swaddled, get him to sleep, and (toughest of all) transition him to his sleeper and he is out cold.

Ouch. Tylenol/ibuprofen is your friend.

Sister got married yesterday and lil mac was the ring bearer. He only got a short nap yesterday, was up until midnight, and no nap today. That coupled with DST equals a 6pm bed time today. Hope he sleeps for his usual 12 hours. Lol

Yo... my daughter said "love you daddy" last night. My heart pretty much melted into a puddle on the floor of the kitchen. Kids are cool.

Again, enjoy it while it lasts. I still the occasional "love you" - especially when I approve an app for a kid's iPad - but we're starting to trend into "You're an dadhole" territory.

Awesome man. As you know my daughter is in kindergarten and I hate that she is starting to lose her innocence. Every now and then you get an urge to just shelter them forever, but you know they won't stop growing.

Ah, asked my MIL to take the kid tonight. Hope was to get him at 5 and keep him overnight. At 11 she was going to the casino with a friend. Almost 7 and she's still there. I don't think she's a gambling addict but... Maybe who knows. My money's on the friend. Anyway, sucks now that we're missing a get together with friends. Oh well I guess.

She committed to watch her grandson and stayed at the casino instead? That's a pretty big red flag dude.
