We went to an Altoona Curve game this past Saturday and the hit Del Grossos and Laguna Splash Sunday. What a wonderful gem of things to do for a 4 year old. It was so perfect. The kids zone at the Curve stadium was great, post-game fireworks and run the bases, and lil mac even got Henry Davis' autograph. And then Del Grossos is really nice, yall are lucky to have something like that in Central PA that hasn't been divulged to a money grabbing tourist trap. We ended up getting $15 admission and probably spent less than $100 inside eating lunch, snacks, and games. Idlewild would've been almost triple that.

Welp, dropped her off in the torrential rain, where the line was down the street and parents continued to ignore pleas from the school to not exit their vehicles in the drop-off lane.

Yup... I think we got spoiled with Delgrossos. We decided we wanted to try something else, went to Idlewild and was disappointed. It really is the best option we've got, all things considered.

Ha! Small world. We were in section 121. My sons name went on the jumbotron, he was so stoked. His fourth birthday was Thursday.

I mean it was cheaper to eat at the park than a restaurant I think. The food was so good too. I got the delgrosso cheese steak, wife got one with whiz, and lil mac got penne and marinara. I think all up that was like $37. Most games were $2-3 which is perfect when you have a 4 year old who needs constant serotonin hits of picking stuffies.

The only negative thing I can say is I wish the lazy river wasn't closed.

Parents get out of their cars in the dropoff line? That's moron behavior. Unless your kid is having a meltdown.

Have any of yinz gotten a firm finger jab straight up your nose when playing with your little ones? This is like the third time, always followed by instant blood flow. Totally accidental but man, three times?

Mini meow needs braces. I’m shocked at how inexpensive the treatment plan is.

I've never had a kid poke me up the nose once. That's a new one lol.

We paid 3 large for my kid's orthodontry, over two years. I think we're done paying next month actually. We managed to keep the same orthodontist even though we moved away, as they have another office an hour from our new house.

I swear they were like 6 grand when we were kids. Luckily I didn't need any but my siblings did.

That’s what I was thinking. $6k-$8k when we were kids. This is $1,600 for a 18 month plan. And that’s all inclusive. We don’t pay a dime outside that.

Mine will need braces eventually, and I hope to be as pleasantly surprised at the bill as you are.

Pricing is also due to how **** up your kid's mouth/bite is, too. My kid had to have teeth pulled, and chains attached to pull his adult canine teeth into place. This was outside of the regular dentist and orthodontist, too. That was $2000 (which was billed as a medical procedure, and covered under our better health insurance). They actually cut a hole in his gums, attached a chain to the tooth in the gum, and would tighten it every few weeks to pull it down in place. Sounds barbaric, but we got some good doped up kid video post surgery.

Looks like 16 month old DDJ caught himself the chicken pox. Mentally I wasn't expecting to have to deal with this for like four more years.

We pay $15 an hour plus most of our sitting times are during dinner, so we buy pizza for the kid and sitter.
