So instead of taking money and putting it in a low risk CD or other savings account, you'd rather the FSA claims company do the same with your money and receive the benefit? I mean, you're having money taken out of your paycheck, giving it to somebody to hold onto until the end of the year, then taking it back.

Yeah I know.
The 27 dollars it will make me isn't really worth the hassle.

The $27 isn't swaying me either, it's the $417 per month taken out of my paycheck that I'd rather have right away than having to wait until the end of the year.

Everything robbie said. You’ll get into a rhythm with submitting claims.

For those of you that had bad sleepers... what did you do for sleep training? We've gotten to the point now where we've got one wake up every night. It's typically around 3 AM +/- and hour. We alternate nights of getting up and feeding her at that time, which isn't a big deal, it's getting her back to sleep that's become an issue. She thinks after she eats, it's party time, so she's up for about an hour or so before we can get her back to sleep.
Now, I'm fine with this as it is. I know that it'll get better in time, and one hour every other night isn't a huge deal. The problem is the other half. She can't handle the hour. She comes back to bed frustrated and upset after about a half hour and makes me get up to go get her to sleep. After pointing out to her that on my nights, I'm up an hour or so (she thought I was only up for 15-20 minutes and then back to bed) she said "well, we need to start sleep training..."
So, any suggestions?

White noise and swaddling worked for us. My son loved the windshield wiper/rain CD track, and even now driving in the rain puts him to sleep.

We are “let them cry” parents. It’s no fun, but we feel it’s important for them to be able to put themselves to sleep

I should mention my kiddo is 8 months this weekend. We have a white noise machine and she hates swaddling. I want to give cry it out a go, but my wife hates the idea of that. It’s one of those things where she thinks she wants to do sleep training, but she doesn’t really know what that entails.

We tried to do cry it out briefly. Good that you have a white noise machine....that is HUGE. Out of curiosity, is she rolling over yet? When our daughter rolled onto her belly in the crib around 3-4 months, we were golden from there.
I don't mean to sound like one of "those" moms, but rubbing a lavender lotion on your baby's feet at night really helps too.

Psh... she's been rolling since 2 months. She's almost walking right now.
Currently, to get her to sleep, we'll rock her down. One evening, I was with her alone, and put her down just before she was actually out because I really had to take a dump. I had the monitor with me while I was doing my business. She pulled herself up to standing and was crying for a bit, but then out of nowhere, she sat down, then laid her head down, then stopped crying, and she was out. I really think we need to try cry it out, but my wife isn't going to like it. Hell, she gets pissed when I say "I'll get her" and I don't immediately go and grab her.

Nah, Ferberizing is trash.
We found this book very helpful (I may have already posted here or LGP): https://www.amazon.com/No-Cry-Sleep-Sol ... +the+Night
Our local library had multiple copies (and my college library has it ebook format), in case you don't want to buy it.

Thanks... it's available through Penn State as well. I'll suggest that to the wife.

This was what we ended up on, but only after exhausting other options. Some kids just don’t want to sleep. We are “let them cry” parents. It’s no fun, but we feel it’s important for them to be able to put themselves to sleep

Everything I've read generally recommends not doing that. I'm not doubting it worked in your case though

Yep, she’s been in sleep sacks for a while now. Also, our doc suggested something like yogurt about an hour before bed and then a bottle immediately before bed. Seems to have helped, but she gets hungry at 4ish.

Had my first solo experience this weekend as a dad, went well. Honestly the most annoying thing about it is I wanted to get a diet dew at sheetz but didn't feel like dragging my sleeping kid in with me

Driving my daughter around in the car was one of the best ways to actually get her to fall asleep. More than once I put her in the car at 2am and drove to the mall parking lot to do circles.Source of the post Honestly the most annoying thing about it is I wanted to get a diet dew at sheetz but didn't feel like dragging my sleeping kid in with me

I honestly hope I never have to do this.
