She's crawling around and playing today like nothing ever happened. She hasn't had any medicine since last night at bedtime and she doesn't have a fever, so everything is looking good. Thanks for your comments, fellas.

It's crazy isn't it? Our little one was a smiling, laughing fool during the day, and coughed horribly all night, up until the day she went to DuPont. I still remember following that ambulance down to DuPont, that was the absolute worst feeling I've ever had. Glad things are better. She's crawling around and playing today like nothing ever happened. Just received an e-mail from school stating that somebody there was diagnosed with scabies. They can't say which child or class this was in, so I'll have to ask my daughter if it's somebody in her class.

I mentioned an article about a father-son trip before you "lose" your kid to the teenage years: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/par ... a440a358ed
Pretty good read.

I had to stop reading, something was in my eye. Not looking forward to the teenage years.I mentioned an article about a father-son trip before you "lose" your kid to the teenage years: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/par ... a440a358ed

I've always envisioned having a "coming of age" trip with my boys when they grow up. They're close enough in age that maybe I'll do them together, but I like the idea of individual trips.

My daughter asked if she could wear shorts to school today, but my wife told her no because of how chilly it is right now. Her response? She walked into our bedroom and started asking Alexa if she could wear shorts to school, hoping for a different answer. She's done this before, so I had already built a custom skill to tell her that it was too cold to wear shorts today.

Spent the last four hours at the emergency room.
Oldest daughter dislocated her knee-cap. She's fine now. She's resting with a stomach full of ice cream and drugs

Sorry to hear that, but glad she’s on the mend. It’s tough watching our kids in pain.

Hope all is well... was she doing anything in particular when it got dislocated, or just general play?

Okay. Not too bad then. I know I hurt an ankle real bad when I was at wrestling practice when I was young and never wanted to go back again. Just hoped it wasn’t soccer. She can come play for PSU.

So a few months ago, we discovered that our oldest son is colorblind. He was at school and had trouble differentiating the color green, which is known as deuteranomaly. He sees different shades of green as "light" or "dark" grays, which was fascinating. He's 13 and we've just now noticed it. which means he's been dealing with it for some time with coping strategies. What was really cool is when we activated the colorblind settings on a few of the video games he plays - it was like he was playing a new game. Pretty interesting, other than the actual sight deficiency.

My wife is 16 weeks along and sick as hell. I think this is an unrelated illness, but sucks that she finally started to get over the morning sickness and came down with this stuff. Compromised immune systems FTL.
