My wife is away for the weekend (long overdue). Naturally, my son has a bad cold with 102 fever. Trying to find somewhere to drop his sister in case I have to go to dupont tonight.
I wish they made Tylenol that lasted 12 hours

Thanks bud We live by that rotation.Tylenol, ibuprofen, Tylenol. Good luck with things, hope he feels better soon.
He fell asleep ten minutes ago. I have the vaporizer right next to his bed, bunch of saline spray for his nose, Vicks on his chest and feet, Epsom salt bath, etc.
Hoping he makes it past midnight.
Sent my daughter to a friend's house tonight to simplify things.

Do you remember going to high school football games, when you either played or watch the game, without any violence or guns?
Over the last two seasons - in two different counties - my kids have had brawls or guns (or both) ruin a game. My older son - at his new high school, was out with new friends for the first time since moving here in June. Some kid pulled a gun and a melee broke out, and the game went into a delay to clear that part of the stands. My other son, a few weeks ago in our old town had a similar thing happen, except it was kids shooting guns in the parking lot.
That happened last season, too.
Can't we have normal things anymore? No one got shot, which is good, but still. WTF.

I don’t remember any guns but there were definitely some good brawls back in the 80s.

Headed to PSU game (noon kick, 3 hr drive + god only knows how long to get parked). Daughter (15) suggested going to creamery pregame. I said- need to leave at 6:00 if you want to do that. 6:40, still sitting here waiting…. I left some play in the schedule but we’re running short.

Oh man, have a great trip!
I ended up going in my son's room at 845 last night Slept in the big bed with him all night, surprisingly was only up briefly about a half dozen times. Gave him medicine at 230 but it was more preventive than anything, his fever seems to have broke this morning.

I had tickets to the game today, but forgot and didn’t get a sitter. It’s alright though, gave em to a coworker and I’ll just hang out with the fam as I leave for a work trip this coming week.
Elk Creek out in Milhiem has their Oktoberfest today. Should be a good time and decent weather.

I honestly don't remember any fights at high-school football games. Even though I was a huge nerd, I liked going to games, traveled to away games, and I only missed two games out of all four years (once because I had broken my wrist earlier that day, and the second time because I was in Pittsburgh testing for scholarships). Certainly no guns or other weapons, and it wouldn't have been because the rural folks I grew up with lacked access to firearms. Slippery Rock was absolutely one of those districts where the first day of buck season was a holiday, and this was long before metal detectors.
I don't really remember all that many fights, period. I'm sure there were fights, but it wasn't a regular thing.

My kid had a really bad outburst at daycare today. Kicking, screaming, punching and I even was told spitting... Likely caused by a rough night of sleep + no nap, but anyway, I don't know what discipline to give to him after the fact. So I made him draw a sorry 'picture' to his teachers. At least he'll think about it for a few minutes. But it is night and day without at least 11 hours of sleep and an hour nap

My favorite time of year. When the school pictures come home and my wife just has to spend almost $200 on them even though she isn't in love with them.

I think we spend 70? I didn't even know that was an option.

There were 5 poses for 2 kids. They were $65 for 3 poses (digital). Of course you can't get 3 poses from both kids combined, you have to get 3 poses from each kid. So we're at $130 for the digital plus I'm guesstimating on the prints price. It's what my wife does best. Spends money because it's the right thing to do.

Also each grandparent needs 2 8x10s... Aunt and uncles all need one too... Of course.

Do you get the digital files to print on your own?
If so I recommend Printique.

Surprisingly low prices and they are in Brooklyn so the cheapest shipping option is very quick. I just used them for those shots Tony did of the wife and I last fall and they turned out great.

I spent $16 on school photos this year - a single 8x10 that I hang up in our hallway.

Grandparents are only ones that get pictures. I tell the aunts that you can see it when you go home to see Mom and dad.

Ours were $32 for each kid. 1 8x10, 2 5x7 and 2 4x6. No digital because who needs those

If digital were less expensive I'd go that route, because I can print out as many photos as I want dirt cheap through Shutterfly.

I try and encourage my kids to wear the same shirt color as the background so they can have the floating head picture.

There are like 3 diff backgrounds. I just assumed it was a green screen
