Okay. Yeah, I guess I didn't know that they don't help at the 3 year old preschool room, and now we need to work on it at home
Maybe that's why my 5-1/2 year old forgets to wipe half the time. They never helped at preschool. No wonder they can't find workers. Anti-wiping policy is keeping potential employees away.

:D :D

We were just told he needed to be "potty trained" for 3yo preschool. I guess it's implied that's wiping also. He comes home with skid marks was why I asked. Before I asked the teacher I'll go to ol reliable FAF first

Just got an email from our daycare that they will no longer be supporting Fridays due to staff shortages. They are not allowing anybody to move their days around to accommodate.

We've been sending our kids there for the past 6 years, every Tuesday and Friday so my wife can work. I can't see how we are going to be able to work this out. I'm sure every other family will be scrambling to find an opening in the area, straining the system even more. Looks like our budget is going to take a hit and my wife will be back to not working Fridays. Which will further strain the hospitals where she works.
We were able to switch to a Monday with a little backdoor wheeling and dealing. Crisis averted, for now

My youngest is in 8th grade. Last ever middle school soccer game for the Franchise family today. They got their first win of the season in their last game.

The “lasts” just keep coming faster.

Oh man, don't need to read that. Sorry dude, glad it went well.

Our son turned two last week... He is trying SO hard to talk, and is starting to put some words together. Daycare and early speech intervention definitely helping the last few months.

I’m guessing by and large most organized activities don’t start until the kid is 5ish, right? Things like sports or gymnastics or clubs and such.

Just want to make sure I’m not letting my kid miss out on stuff. She’ll turn 4 in the spring so probably in another year or so we should start looking for that kind of stuff?

There were a good deal of 4 year olds on my daughter’s dance class. I honestly don’t even remember when she started going, but it probably was right around when she was turning 5.

Typically soccer starts at 3 or 4, depending on birth date.

Ya know, if it weren’t for your vaccine of choice, you’d be alright, meow.

Thanks for the info.

Looks like soccer is going to be my daughter's sport. Glad she settled on one early.

Out of curiosity, why? And not meaning to be judgmental. In my mind, kids should play as many sports, or do as many activities, as they can, especially at a young age.

Don't worry, she's still doing other stuff too. I meant more that it's really fun to see her fall in love with the sport. She's embraced soccer. It helps that her U10 team plays really well and has been kicking ass.

We are probably the smallest school district in Lancaster County, and they've won all six games by large margins against bigger districts.

Honestly, if my daughter decides not to get into another sport, it wouldn’t bother me. The stories I hear from other family members and friends makes me glad that I didn’t have to go through it when I was a kid.

Yeah sports are super hard when your kid is young. It’s VERY hard to teach delayed gratification, practice helping to improve, and you won’t be good at something right away. However, when they start improving, and helping them tie all that effort into the payoff. Man it’s a great feeling as a parent and it’s awesome to see your kid be proud.

Been keeping track of the scores of my son’s soccer games since he started playing a couple years ago.

His teams are losing 1,237 to 3

But who needs a Sunday anyway

My son plays soccer shots in daycare and he really likes it. They have a tiny kickers league for 3 and above at our local in house club, but we just let him continue the soccer shots for now (easier on us too lol).

Parents in costumes vs the kids at soccer practice tomorrow night for a fun pre Halloween event. Looking forward to aggressively tackling my daughter's teammates (spikes up) while wearing my Stay Puft costume.

Ahhhh the dreaded “Dad I have a headache, stomachache, and sore throat” this morning.

Remember back when that was a “tough, you don’t have a fever, get ready for school?”

Now it’s “God damn it, let me clear some of my schedule and get you tested”

God help her if she’s faking.

Yep, this just adds more stress. I already feel awful for my kid when she's sick, and I damn near make myself sick over it.

First day back for our son in daycare in almost 3 weeks and they asked us as soon as we dropped him off if we could keep him home on Friday because of teacher issues. We immediately told them no, knowing they'll likely close the room anyways.

Lady, I just had our son off for three weeks because of your bunk ass covid restrictions, I'm paying you good money so I don't have to be daycare so I can work.

I would be searching for a new daycare, personally.
