I have a bunch of old Spider-Man comics from the 80’s. Some Xmen and Daredevil too. Just gave them to my 7 year old for his birthday. He had no clue I had them and I forgot too, until I was looking for something else in storage.
Anyway…it’s the coolest thing in the world to see him flipping through my old comic books and his face when I pulled them out was priceless. Dadding is fun sometimes.

Prince turns 4 tomorrow. It's been fun counting down on his calendar. Going to drop the baby off at daycare and then surprise him by taking him out for breakfast before taking him back.

We’re at 3.5 years right now. Bed time is strict. We don’t stay late to pretty much anything. The pandemic has helped with that. Lol

Spent the day at the Forbes ER because my wife was retaining urine. She has been diagnosed with an "incarcerated uterus". Doc said he's seen this 4 times in his entire career. She was told to do some yoga and try to get it dislodged from her Sacrum. All should be well once that happens, but I did have to resist the "rearrange her insides" jokes today

Oh, and thanks for the light tips. Our hatch rest is now programmed to red, yellow, and green. And our kid is staring at it waiting to turn red so he can get in bed.

I was there too (not the ER, in Building 1) learning about drop bladder. Small world?Spent the day at the Forbes ER because my wife was retaining urine. Lol when mine started understanding bedtime, we would tell him what time on the clock he had to go up (he's really into numbers) and he would literally just spend the rest of the time watching the clock until it hit that time.Oh, and thanks for the light tips. Not only did he not do this, he also sent her home with a catheter still in tact. So there's a 0.0% chance I can help. The doc did you no favors here. Today is the first day of the Scholastic Book Fair at my daughter's elementary school, and the pictures that the PTO is posting on FB really bring back memories. The setup looks very similar, and I'm sure Library will be her favorite class of the week because of this.

Loved me some book fair as a kid.

Same. I've wanted to do one for my library for college students, but Scholastic doesn't really do that.

Huh, maybe that's a PA thing. I talked to the Scholastic rep that does the fairs at my wife's school and she looked at me like I was nuts. (I am, but not for that lol).

Our kids' Scholastic was online this year for obvious reasons. The books were cheaper than buying anywhere else online, but we had to pay shipping so ended up paying a bit more. 25% of profits went to the library, so hopefully they spend the 50 cents wisely.

I volunteered to work the book fair a couple of years ago. The hardest thing for me, by far, was not just paying for the rest of some of the kids orders, or getting them something they really wanted but couldn't afford.
I remember what it was like to see other kids show up with 50 dollar bills to the fairs when I was younger, and it was tough not being able to help the kids that clearly were not as well off.

Yeah, I made a point to tell my daughter that if she had a kid in her class that didn’t have money for a book to buy them one. It’d be nice if they had some sort of used section that was free for scenarios like that.

Also, who the hell gives their kid $50 to spend at these?!
5AF Parenting Thread
I know. $50 strikes me as way low.
Yeah... I was always the "that kid" that bought a stack of like 20 books for the book fairs/orders.

Lil macs daycare is like a 4 star rated or whatever. Kinderstars? Idk. I don't care. But either way his new phrase is "Do I need to separate yinz?"

Picture day is Thursday, so of course my daughter pulls two teeth out this week. Gonna send her in wearing a Pens jersey to complete the look.

We also promised her Robux for every tooth she pulls, so I'm out $10. She goes to the dentist later this week, where he may want to pull the other tooth. It's loose, but nowhere near ready to come out. I think she's hoping that he'll give her more time to pull it herself.
