Kids sleep well, it's just getting them up there that's the chore. My 9 year old complains that his bedtime is still 8PM. Pretty sure they took a survey in class and he was very disappointed :D
Lol, ours did that. “My friends don’t go to bed until 9!” So now her bedtime is 9.

Lil mac is 4.5 and goes to bed around 8. It's a chore to get him up by 7:25 some days to get to school.
Baby mac goes down at 6:30 and sleeps til about 7:30, solid.

I know we are blessed. I don't know how people who have kids that stay up til like 10 and wake up the next day at 7 function.

Our kid doesn't fall asleep until 8-9 and is up by 5:30. I hate all of you.

Our kid didn’t sleep through the night until 2 and not consistently until 2 and a half. It’s about 5-15% of the reason why she’ll be an only child.

Now she does fine. Down about 8-8:30 wakes up about 7 or so.

We're up at five and I'm not sure what time our kids go to sleep lol. Their phones lock at 10:30, so around then.

Oh and no broken bones on my son's foot. Well nothing that showed up on x-ray. But that's happened before, and it was a hairline fracture. So he's staying in the boot for a while.

What was scary is the x-ray of his big toe, which isn't near where he's having pain. Because of the fibrous dysplasia, it's nearly hollow in some places. Like if he were to kick a ball with his front foot/side foot, it would probably break. Scary.

Yeah, best of luck DG. That has to be devastating for a kid going into their athletic prime

Conversation tonight:

"hey lil mac, you need to brush your teeth tonight since you fell asleep last night before you did. You need to make sure you brush your teeth every night, otherwise they'll fall out"

"like Carter? Did he not brush his teeth?"

Yes buddy. Like big Jeff Carter.

Here's a weird, proud parenting moment. You know the endless Verizon ads that are on right now? With Cicely Strong and Paul Giamatti? My kids walked in and saw Giamatti and said "Huh, John Adams selling phones..." We watched that together several years ago - and they loved it for some reason (it's a great miniseries, but they were pretty young back then.)

Playing Pictionary with an 8 year old and a 5 year old is the most fun I’ve had in years

We went for a walk today. Little c2i thought it was the best thing since sliced bread to have a piece of chalk, taped to a stick, and drag it behind her. It’s the simple things sometimes.

My wife and her sister are taking the kids to Florida to visit her Nana, and I'm home alone until Monday. I just called them prior to their taking off, and heard my son crying loudly. My wife is mortified and has already profusely apologized to everyone around them.

I feel bad but man, I'm glad to be home

Did any of your kids fight sleep, like we're obviously tired but refused to sleep and they get mad in the process?

Yes. Both my kids fought like the dickens if they were overtired. I did much better with the second knowing when she would be tired and 9 times out of 10, she'd be down for a nap within 5 minutes without a peep. But if I missed the target, I would hold them tight against me, like I was taking a handoff in football, so they couldn't squirm and once they settled down, it was usually pretty fast.

With him I see the yawn or rubbing of the eyes and start to try to get him to sleep and he fights so much that then he gets overtired and then eventually he is hungry because he took so long to get to sleep :face:

I see all these articles that say to get them drowsy but not asleep when going down for a nap and I'm just over here laughing at the very idea that could work.

Our son was/is the worst at sleeping and I can remember laughing at reading about how to lay them down before being asleep at nap.

Do you swaddle by chance?
