I was curious if I'd ever been informed of the policy after you guys started saying all of this, and of course it was in the pamphlet I signed that I read
They move at birthdate and at end of year. You have to be 2 by July 31 and you move on your birthday, otherwise you move at the end of the year in which you turned 2. So I guess he moved 4 months early, because he missed the cutoff by 1 month to move on birthday.

I'm not sure why they do it that way, but they do.

My daughter's school will be using Zoom for live teaching, and Google Classroom for assignments and such. Testing out Zoom on both of my Chromebooks in full screen mode effectively pegs the CPU. That's just crazy. I may give her my spare Surface Pro 4, just so that she can use it in full screen mode if she has issues. I have never been a fan of Chromebooks, and I'm even less of one now.

mini meow hasn’t needed to used full screen in Zoom. It doesn’t seem necessary, honestly.

This is an 11.6" Chromebook, so I'd prefer it being full screen.mini meow hasn’t needed to used full screen in Zoom. It doesn’t seem necessary, honestly.

Enabling hyper-threading seems to have improved the experience a little. CPU usage is still high, but I don't get the high CPU warning in Zoom. **** Google, that is not enough of a security risk to disable by default. This is an 11.6" Chromebook, so I'd prefer it being full screen.mini meow hasn’t needed to used full screen in Zoom. And if anyone else wants to turn it on themselves, here are the instructions: https://support.google.com/chromebook/a ... 0236?hl=en

Armstrong cable went kaput on Friday so half the district couldn’t get online. Figure this won’t be the last time

First day of school tomorrow. Got her Chromebook all setup with the Zoom reminders, her desk is nice and tidy, and she’s about to ‘get her beauty sleep’, as she puts it (if these **** fireworks ever stop). Can’t believe the summer break is over already, but I think it’ll be good for her to see her friends and make news ones, even if done virtually.

Yep, same here. My ninth grader has his Macbook updated (big OS patch yesterday, I hope everyone has turned theirs on at least before the bullshit starts tomorrow morning lol), my wife has a Google Doc with all of his Zoom links in order, Schoology logged in and ready to go. Eight hours of Zoom meetings tomorrow. I'm staying home in the morning to make sure all is well. He's pretty sharp, but anything can happen.
Meanwhile, my sixth grader goes to pick up his iPad and meet his teachers...on Friday. He has nothing until then, so he gets to play video games while his brother is in school. He will go an extra week in June, while his brother gets to play video games.
Judging by the county wide numbers that came out today, we are still moderately high...so another two weeks of eLearning for the face-to-face students. We were to start the first two weeks that way, to take us to September 21st...so add another two weeks to that. I hope all of the beach goers and cookout attendees are happy with themselves.
This is my wife's first day of school - in 14 years as a mom - where she hasn't taken one of our boys to school/daycare with her. She's in her feelings about this.

Does anyone's child suffer from moderate excema? We got eucrisa samples and it finally seems to be the only way to clear up lil macs

Yes and yes. Eucrisa worked for us, but eczema is usually allergy based. My eldest had a horrendous dust mite allergy, and once we got rid of stuffed animals and carpet where he slept and played (he was a toddler), it got 90% better. He still gets some during the winter due to dry skin.

Good call on updating your devices (or Pausing updates on Win10), DG. I also passed that advice along on FB.
We found out yesterday that the school district adjacent to ours appears to have done little to no work over the summer on their virtual learning program. They’re virtual until Thanksgiving, like the rest of us, but are doing Google Slides for learning. That was acceptable for the final few months at the start of the virus in March, but now? Unacceptable. I know two parents who opted to send their kids to independent online schools for the year as a result of this.

Mini meow was challenging at 3. Typical little boy stuff
Baby meow - while she just turned three about a month ago - is an absolute peach
