This feels like my daughter's first day of daycare when she was a baby. I miss her even though she has basically been within 20' of me for so long now.
I hear ya man. House feels so empty.

That said, by the second or third day, you *should* start enjoying it more. At least more than you are now :P

The doctor at urgent care was giving my wife sht this morning because "we've been there often lately", and he kept asking what our GP thinks about all of this. My wife was patiently trying to explain to him that when there is a six week wait to make a fcking appointment with the family doctor, that doesn't really work well when you or your children are sick NOW.

Makes me thankful our pediatrician's office has it's own sick office. Always get in same day.

Same - with separate entrances and waiting areas for 'sick' and 'well visit' patients. And I can get an appointment on the same day if need be, as they continue to hire more doctors. I couldn't imagine going to another pediatrician's office based on our experience here.

They were in different locations but just this past year they are in the same building but 2 different offices, so it's even better now.

Yeah... we can typically get in within a day or so with our place. Usually never to see the pediatrician we typically see, but there are like 6 or so that usually have some sort of opening. I could understand them giving her (and/or you) sh*t if you keep going for non-sense reasons, but if they're legit, what's the point in saying something like that?

Hey mate, next time your kid is sick, have you considered rubbing dirt on them?

Weird our GP just says "go to children's if you're unsure." They literally tell us to visit children's hospital or the emergency care center because they're usually busy.

I haven't seen my physician since he left, and at any rate, I'd rather pay $15 extra to walk into urgent care than sit around waiting for an appointment. **** that noise.

Our pediatrician has at least one office open every day of the week, has evening hours at at least one office every weekday, and is open for walk-ins every day of the week. Upgrade your doctor shad.

Shad really only has 2 choices... his current doctor or the Amish. I think he's better off where he is.

Well let’s hold on here. What’s the Amish doctor’s stance on Ivermectin?

The Amish doctor is probably an actual horse, so there's a good chance that it's very fond of that treatment plan.

Childrens does after hours urgent care clinics now, one of which is in the UPMC Sports Medicine area at the Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry. Took Little Franchise there last month when she hurt her knee in a soccer game. It's a pretty good thing.

I'll take a vet over an MD any day. They gotta be able to cure a lizard, a chicken, a pig, a frog all on the same day.

Glad you agree. I've actually felt more annoyed by this because when we take our son or call in, it's the same advice / request. It's to the point where my wife and I are playing "how do we feel about this? Is it severe enough to go there?"

Honestly, the ER is only for life-saving situations. A good urgent care can handle almost anything “routine”

Curious. Is GP a general pediatrician or a general practitioner? A general pediatrician should never suggest the ER for things that are not life or death

Just our general pediatrician of record. We're in the process of looking for a new one because of this. This guy would tell us to go to the ER for anything fever related, with COVID (but to be clear, our son couldn't tell us what was bothering him, so everything was sickness related) etc. We've since decided on our own to go to UPMC children's care center in Wexford because it's easier/closer for us.

Thankfully, that's a much easier scenario but the year through COVID really had us look and talk/decide about this guy being our son's doctor of record.
