I would absolutely still have had a third but I feel like we are always scraping by, in debt, not in the house we’d really like, etc where our friends and family with two or fewer seem to be able to do all the things they want to do. Understanding that everything is not as it seems and people who seem to be doing better may just be in more crippling debt. We just never seem to catch up.

But we wanted a daughter, got a daughter, and I wouldn’t trade the way things worked out for anything. She’s incredible and we’re cherishing the rest of the time we have before we’re empty nesters.

More kids also equals more stress. I worry about my one kid enough as it is, and another would probably drain me.

Anyone (or spouse) who is thinking about adding one more, you can borrow my 3 1/2 year old for the week for a trial run. That will eliminate your desire for one more.

My wife just wants a daughter is I think her main reason. And I keep telling her that's not a guarantee let alone a close possibility

That's another aspect of it too

This year's been rough medical bill wise. We are at our OOP Max. So it makes sense to do it now financially.

By the way I'll have someone professional do it...

I had to convince myself that I’d be ok with 3 boys before I gave the wife the go ahead for #3. We were blessed to have a girl, but there’s no guarantee.

Yeah. Continuing to have kids because you want one of a different sex seems like the dumbest thing imaginable to me.

I couldn't the the Valium since I had to drive home. The twilight and local shot down below to numb was sufficient....even if it was a bit weird talking through the whole thing.

I guess so. Twilight wears off faster I believe. I mean honestlyI was aware of what was going on the whole time, and talked through the procedure. Afterwards I felt normal mentally and fully awake.... was just a bit sore obviously.

I think I waited about 30-45 minutes afterwards before they let me leave. I remember being in the procedure room and them asking if I had anyone to drive me home, and when I said no they said they couldn't give me valium or anything like that.

I could not have driven after the Valium. I would have needed two hours or so.
