My favorite thing about FB is when memories of goofy things my kids said come up
Worried about my daughter's future, on the way to church she said "dollars are made of paper, we can just make our own.

I keep a notepad on my phone for all my kids' quotes. Some real gems in there.

I may have mentioned this before, but we have our son seeing someone for early intervention in speech. His personality has exploded since starting day care again a few months ago, but the speech is still a concern albeit a minor one, since we know plenty of others that didn't talk much until they were closer to 2.5-3 and then talked a lot.

One of the therapists (for sensory) visits our son at school. This morning, his two teachers (whom we like a lot) pulled my wife aside and just asked her what the deal was with the therapist. Apparently she was being extremely condescending with the staff there, and really impatient with our son. He brought his beloved box of blocks over to show her, and when he started taking him out, apparently she scolded him that he needs to be BUILDING, not just playing with them. He turns TWO on Monday!!

We already sent a polite email to the county letting them know that it's not working out with her. The speech therapist that he sees virtually once a week from home is wonderful, and hopefully she can take on that responsibility too. But man, I was pissed off. I'm glad we have such a good relationship with the day care.

People who choose to work with children despite not liking children…always a weird thing

Same goes for nurses who hate people or helping in general. I know a few of them.

Yep, I've experienced both of these. Odd.

Very strange indeed. My wife watches kids, not sure how she does it (3 kids under 6 months, 3 under 2 yrs). Some are foster kids and seeing some of the people from CYS who come and pick up these little babies and complain is shocking to me.

Picture day is Thursday, so of course my daughter pulls two teeth out this week. Gonna send her in wearing a Pens jersey to complete the look.
Show her Brandon Tanev's last two headshots and make sure she understands the assignment :D

My wife would murder me. She basically went to school dressed like she was going to a luau, right down to a plumeria hair clip behind her right ear.

DG III has been having trouble with his foot, and had to stop playing during a soccer game today. He fractured a few metatarsals playing baseball a few years ago, and when they healed, it was cartilage not bone. So it could be broken again, although he's not in much pain.

My issue is now we have to navigate COVID testing chuds at the urgent care tomorrow. One of the urgent care practices is affiliated with his orthopedic doctor, so the x-rays and evaluation go right to the doctor's office. This expedites getting an appointment, which could be a week or two otherwise.

Just dreading the lines of people getting tested...

Based on what I’ve heard - in my area, at least - Monday is the absolute worst day to visit urgent care.

I'd call the UC before you get there and ask them to hold a backdoor open for you. We have a pretty standard policy right now that non-covid related things can avoid the waiting room.

We're going to go tomorrow, while people are in church. Hopefully, they have a separate queue for non testing people.

Gotta love possibly subjecting yourself to covid to prove you don't have covid.

Well, it's a broken foot. Same foot as before, so off to the ortho tomorrow.

Office wasn't crowded, just one guy listening to a loud church service on his phone. Obnoxious.

Ouch, sorry man. Cortisone is your friend with the rash that is coming. Ditto for Epsom salt baths, twice a day. Good luck. It will look very gnarly, ESPECIALLY as the rash goes away and the skin cracks and peels. Don't be alarmed.

The rash started yesterday. It's actually pretty mild in the hand feet and mouth but really bad in the diaper area

We managed to escape Hand foot and mouth with either mild symptoms or it wasn’t that, despite it going around our daughters class. She just had a fever for a day or two. No rashes.

My son is almost 10 and has never been sick more than a day or two in a row and nothing more serious than a cold. No flu. No hand foot mouth. No colic. No ear infections. No upper respiratory infections. Nothing.

It's weird.

This is the second year in a row that my daughter has complained about her arm hurting a day after her flu shot. Her tricep is a little swollen, too. Gonna be fun when she has to go for two covid shots…
