My wife and I made a deal. I never have to do thermometer up the butt, but she never has to cut nails. I think she won this one, seeing as I have to cut 60 nails a week and she probably has to do the thermometer less than 10 times a year. But worth it.

I’ll ask mrs meow this too. I’m sure she can rattle off more. Although. The more I think about it, her wheelhouse is more “no one tells you to buy this, but it is amazing” type. So kind of the oppose of @obhave ’s question

Pointless:
Wipe warmer. Now just a wipe dispenser.
Snap pajamas. F that. Zippers only.
Expensive fancy baby monitor with wifi enabled. Just get a cheap one with dedicated receiver.
Mamaroo is hit or miss... First loved it, second is so/so.

We like the bottle warmer because it doesn't overheat the bottle. I couldn't imagine microwaving it all the time. What if it gets too hot?

If you're breastfeeding my wife loves her willow go breastpump. Expensive but worth it if you're active.

Disagree here. I'd argue against a cheap monitor like I would argue against cheap TVs. You don't need a top of the line, and there are plenty of nice ones at reasonable price points that I'd buy before grabbing a $40 let somebody in Russia talk to your kid model.

We did a Arlo Baby one and it was terrible. The infant optics DXR-10 is great for us. Far as I know no one in Russia has access to my kid.

VTech has a number of nice models. I forget which one I just recommended to my sister, though I do think it was local monitor only, no wifi.

I had an old Motorolla one for our daughter, and save spending $25 for a replacement battery, that thing lasted for 6+ years.

I was really happy with out V-Tech until it fell apart. I had it mounted to the wall above the crib, and after 1.5 years of random panning, a microscopic screw loosened and the camera module disconnected from the base. Said screw hit the floor and was never seen again.

We actually have the boppy lounger that was recalled. It's awesome if you use it like a person with a brain and not let your kid sleep in it

My kids both slept amazingly with a sleep sack also. When baby mac was very young he had one that his arms kind of tucked into but since he has a cleft palate he uses his fingers to sooth (no pacifier) so we quickly had to get one that was sleeveless. It has a little bean bag on it that, either can go on the back or front depending on if baby is a back or belly sleeper.

Oh, that reminds me - avoid using a pacifier at all costs. Ours never used one, so we never had to seen her off it. I know so many who struggled with this.

On the flip side, the pacifier worked well for my kid when sleeping and she gave it up pretty easily.

We used pacifiers and had no issue weaning either of my boys. One was 2.5 and when we moved him to his big boy bed we disappeared it and said it stays with the crib. The second we just stopped giving it to him around 18 months and he didn't care. Both only had it at night after about 9 months.

Neither of our kids had any interest in pacifiers. We were #blessed
