Man you are hitting me right in the feels with this stuff. Experimenting with different foods was a blast. I'll never forget the first time our daughter had spaghetti and meatballs; she actually went in the hospital a few weeks after that for RSV but man she crushed that tray.Started giving the kiddo food. Man is this fun. The first thing we did was oatmeal, and she was so confused on what was going on, but by the third time we did it she had it down, was getting more in her belly than on her belly and she was really enjoying it. The excited hand shaking between bites is the best. Then we switched to green beans... my oh my. That initial look of utter betrayal cracked me up. Luckily it didn't last long and she went back to her munching ways. I think we're gonna have an eater on our hands, and I can't wait to make her all sorts of good stuff.

We gave our son avocado for his first solid food. He destroyed it, so we ended up giving him half of it. He was covered in puke by 3AM. Didn't realize kids that small cannot take in so much fat (even if it's good fat).
Enjoy the new diaper smells, c2i.

Nothing - and I mean nothing - is worse than the smell of a soiled diaper after your baby has been on amoxicillin. It takes an act of God to get me to throw up, and I almost lost it just walking into my daughter's room after this happened.Source of the post Enjoy the new diaper smells, c2i.

My daughter mastered whistling today. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to hear it in my sleep now.

My wife is away visiting her grandparents in FL this weekend, so it was just my daughter and I. We had a great weekend, went to the trampoline park yesterday and to Wegman's, went to get a couple new board games today, and just hung out inside all day because it was raining from dawn to dusk.
As bedtime got closer, I started to get a really intense feeling of melancholy...sad that our weekend was over, sad that I'm not going to be her whole world forever, sad that she won't always just admire me unconditionally, etc. Anyone else struggle with this? She'll be five at the end of October. Obviously she isn't perfect all the time, but I just find myself desperately wanting this age to last forever.

On the flip side, my little one is 4.5 months old. I cannot wait until she's 5ish and we get to go do all those cool things together. She's no longer a potato, but she's far more work than fun right now about 97% of the time. I'm excited for that number to come down a bit.

My niece apparently has hand, foot and mouth disease, and since the entire family was together yesterday, I fully expect my daughter and her cousins to all show symptoms sometime this week.

The “messiest game show on TV” is hitting the road and coming to Pittsburgh this fall.
Nickelodeon’s “Double Dare” first ran from 1986 to 1993, and the network revived the show in June, following previous revivals “Super Sloppy Double Dare,” “Family Double Dare” and “Double Dare 2000.”
A “Double Dare Live!” tour will launch in October, bringing a live version of the show to cities across the country.
Former host Marc Summers will join the tour, and audience members may get chosen to to answer trivia questions, completely physical stunts and run the show’s obstacle course.
The tour will be at the Benedum Center in downtown Pittsburgh on Sunday, Nov. 18. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
Ticket buyers over the age of 18 will be able to register for a chance to participate on stage. Applications will be accepted starting Oct. 1.

I so badly wanted to do the final obstacle course when I was a kid, but I'm pretty sure I would have murdered a family member Menendez-style for failing to do find the f***ing flag. I enjoy watching fail videos of contestants on those shows.Man, that was a fun show to watch back when I was a kid.
Like how pissed does Olmec sound the second time this idiot buzzes in?

Woof... what a rough night. Baby was congested and couldn’t breath through her nose enough to sleep. We had the saline and the snot sucker going most of the night, pulling out giant slags of boogers.
My Fitbit says I got 2 hours of sleep. I doubt that. Send coffee, please.
