My sister sent lil mac a craft kit for easter to make his own super hero cape. A cape with some stick on felt. the kid is terrified to actually put the cape on around his neck... lol

Kids are weird man.

Any chance you shared The Incredibles with him?

NO CAPES!

A few weeks ago, my wife ordered a couple of "Cups of Caterpillars" from Insectlore.com...basically, it is an Eric Carle themed thing. Each cup comes with food at the bottom and five baby caterpillars in there. Over the last couple of weeks, we have watched them grow, and last night, the last one just attached itself to the bottom of the lid and we literally watched spellbound as they formed a chrysalis and went motionless once it was completed. Now, we wait a few days and get ready to release them as butterflies.

The reason why I mention this is for anyone with children, this is a really, really fun thing to order. It has been pretty cool watching life happen right on the counter top of our island. Highly recommend, especially during this quarantine.

Update: most of the butterflies have emerged from their chrysalis. Again, highly recommend this for a really fun and educational interactive activity for your kiddos. It's not that expensive at all.

I actually ordered a kit after you posted about it. They’re growing like crazy, and I expect them to head to the lid soon.

I also found praying mantis eggs while looking at this, but my wife mixed it, lol. “We aren’t setting hundreds of mantises loose in my garden.”

I'll allow it. Though lil kraft Mac and cheese has a dairy allergy so we're a Daiya family now

Yeah it was almost alarming how fast they grew. It's wild to see.

Our pediatrician just called and wanted to see if we were open to scheduling a well visit for our daughter, since she’s overdue. Only certain doctors are seeing sick patients, while others are handling well visits. All sick visits are in the building, while well visits are in a tent in the back. Seems like they’re going the extra mile with protection.

Our pediatrician was sick visits in the afternoon, well in the morning.

We thought lil mac had a UTI so we had to take him in on Wednesday. Luckily it was nothing major, just a minor cold that cleared up overnight.

My daughter had her 2 year well visit earlier this week. Everything was on the up and up. The only thing that sucked is our daughter loves giving hugs to her doctors... she was unable to do so.

I’ll probably go ahead and schedule it. They said they’d call before the appointment to gather all info so that all that happens is the actual physical, to get us in and out quickly.

Their office actually has two doors - one for well visits, and another for sick visits. Everyone stays on their side, including in the exam rooms.

We actually pushed back our son's six month vaccinations a couple of weeks. He has been so healthy, and for eight out of the last 10 nights he has slept like 7:30 - 6:30 :!: :!: :!:

No way I want to mess up that good mojo now

I must be extremely lucky, lil mac is 730/800 to 730/800 every day.

We’ve been seeing the doctors regularly since the shutdown

First time was when our son got a peanut up his nose. They gave us a specific time to come in and said we’d be the only ones there. Only a receptionist and one PA. Was eerie but nice to know nobody else was around

Second was our daughter’s two month checkup. Her first round of shots. She still isn’t sleeping thru the night so didn’t have any worries screwing that up. Again gave us a specific time and didn’t sit in a waiting room

Just this past week, peanut boy hit his pinky toe running around the house and tore it at the base. Probably broke it too. Called the doc and they did everything over video. Was surprised they were able to see the toe well enough to do an assessment.

I think I can already tell that my toddler is becoming ridiculously attached to my wife and I, because he really isn't seeing or going anywhere else for long periods of time.

Today is the first day, I felt like a bad parent. Our son has been screaming non-stop for a day plus now, and we've tried everything but medication, but gave it to him today because he was tugging at his ear.

All that being said, I love all this extra time, but I feel bad because today is a day I just want to get away, even for 15 minutes, just some time during the day without screaming.

Which I find hilarious. Daycares are sick factories, how are we going to protect everything else, but then let our kids basically swap disease?

We had one that was much smaller than the rest, and spent the last 3 days nearly knocking over the others who are already in their shells. He did knock one over, and then finally started the process himself.

I've been thinking about this. If the rona hit much earlier than everybody believes, daycares would have been ransacked with the virus.
