This is giving me flashbacks to that long ass scarf thing I used to have to wrap around myself when walking around with my daughter while I did chores and stuff.

Tell me about it. 6 weeks old did belly to back regularly, 7 weeks back to side, and so far only rolled once the whole way from back to belly, but enough to not swaddle anymore...That's really fast for back to belly. There goes that idea

I recall those days well... my kiddo didn't like naps/sleeping and didn't sleep through the night regularly until she was 2+. We tried pretty much every trick in the book. Now at 4.5, we have trouble getting her out of bed in the morning to head to daycare.
We found that pacifier was necessary for her, and she likes to pop the pacifier out of her mouth and chuck it behind the crib and then cry that she doesn't have it any more. We just sprinkle binkies all around her so she finds a new one and that helped a good bit.

This could actually end up being a blessing. Our daughter rolled to her belly when she was very young, and discovered that she sleeps way better. We would always put her in on her back but if she did roll over, we weren't going in to roll her back. Nights got *much* better after that.Tell me about it. 6 weeks old did belly to back regularly, 7 weeks back to side, and so far only rolled once the whole way from back to belly, but enough to not swaddle anymore...That's really fast for back to belly. Wow. Going through the same stuff. Had to "sleep train" my 6 month old. It seemed to help - but the biggest difference is she rolls onto her belly now and prefers to sleep like that
Sadly for you OB, he's still too young to sleep train. Football hold or maybe try a swaddle sack but leave the arms free

Shot in the dark here, but having issues with soaked PJs and sheets nearly every morning and sometimes even after nap for my 2 year old. He's a young 2 (just turned in october) so a little too young for potty training although we have begun introducing the concept and he's sat there.
What can I do? He's big... wears size 6 diapers, pampers baby dry at night, and still pisses through them.. the next size up has limited selection so that's not a great option either.
Tips? Tricks? Diaper recommendations?

Rubber sheets. Withhold drink and change him right before bed. I don’t really know. We never had a kid wet the bed

Double up the diapers, or put a pull up over them.. My son is 4 and still wears pull ups to bed. Doc said it'll probably continue until adolescence.

Might look weird, but there are wool diaper covers (example here; https://www.littlespruceorganics.com/di ... per-cover/) to go over the disposable diapers. If he pees on them, you just have to air them out (so have a couple for rotation). The diaper cover catches it and then you don't have to worry about bed/clothes. Wool naturally cleans itself, so as long as it's not poop you don't have to wash these that often.Shot in the dark here, but having issues with soaked PJs and sheets nearly every morning and sometimes even after nap for my 2 year old. We bought these for my son when he was doing it constantly and had good success with it.

Also. The price of pull ups can get Fd. They're like $40 for a 100 pack.

Thanks everyone. Bev/ob, I might try one of those.
For last night we did a baby dry diaper covered with a pull up. This morning the first thing he said when I walked in was DADDY TWO DIPEY ON and started cracking up. Well, it worked!
Then when I changed him, he threw a **** fit with screaming and tears... DADDY TWO DIPEY AGAIN NOW!

Yeah I get them from Sam's club, which are the cheapest and still expensive. I dont think there really is a cheaper alternative for a 4+ year old who will not wear a diaper.Ugh. Damn. Happy birthday.
In the name of feeling like I'm getting older...
and I don't know why I had this thought, but I just remembered when the pens went to the cup final in 2009 and Billy Guerin talked about his win in 1995 and how you never know when you'll get that chance again blah blah blah and I remember at the time 1995 felt forever ago.
Well, 2023 is as far away from 2009 as 1995 was, but 2009 feels like it just happened...

We've been struggling to get little c2i out of bed in a decent mood recently. And by recently, I mean for months now. We wake her up and she's an absolute grump, daycare drop off is impossibly difficult, it just sort of came out of nowhere (we think). One morning I asked her, "What do you think we could do to make this easier?" To my surprise, she said "I don't want you to wake me up. I want to wake up myself like you do..." I said, "I wake up to an alarm..." "I want that too."
Alright, fine. We'll get you an alarm clock. The past few days have been almost miraculous. Her alarm clock goes off, she goes to the bathroom, gets herself dressed (mostly), and is in a better mood. Very strange. I'm guessing it's just a novelty thing and that will wear off, but for now: I'll take it.

I dont know if that's novelty, I think it's independence. I think if I remember my son is a tiny bit older than she is and we did something very similar... he pretty much created his own morning routine that he does entirely independently (like, on weekends we are often still in bed when he gets up). Sounds like you might have nipped this one in the bud my friend

I'm with KC on that one c2i. Kids, whether they say it or not, are on a full blown path to independence from the day they were born. Well, maybe once they hit about 1 year old. That's when they start to test your patience, because they're trying to see where they have say and where they don't.
It's not a bad thing, just part of kids growing up. Personally, I think it's really cool. A lot of parents I know get all nostalgic and are sad that the days of dependence are behind them, but I love seeing my kids get older. Not in the sense that I want them out of the house, just watching them become their own person and how my parenting has made an impact (hopefully in a good way).

I'm more than happy to just let her get herself up and dressed. In fact, I welcome it. If it puts her in a better mood, that's just a win-win. Hope it lasts.
