my 6 year old discovered something called kids bop. I don't want to say anything bad because he's 6 and it's awesome seeing him dance and sing to music he likes, but it's getting stuck in my head and messing me up.

My daughter listens to Kidz Bop on Alexa every. single. day. At this point, I actually like some of the kids' versions of songs than I do the actual artists.
They dance to Kidz Bop at my daughter's school. I don't mind it in theory, however, I was a little pissed off when my four year old started going "BABY I'M SORRY, I'M NOT SORRY, FEELING SO BAD GOT ME FEELING SO GOOD" and "LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO".

I love her day care/school, and I can't think of a bad thing to say about the place, but holy sht I don't want her listening to/repeating that crap.

I know which song you're referring to. I personally don't have any issues with it, but I could see differing opinions here.

My coworker was commenting that her daughter was singing "Sexy and I know it" word for word because it was a part of their Just Dance game... she told her it was inappropriate, and the daughter fought back saying there are no swear words. I can only imagine a 5 year old singing "I got passion in my pants, and I ain't afraid to show it"...
you will like being a dad. this sh#t happens every day and its hilarious always

Just had a 15-minute conversation with my four year old on why he could not be a YouTuber when he grew up.

Kidz Bop tour coming to KC this summer. Seriously debating it depending on ticket prices.

School father/daughter dance tonight w my daughter which Is a totally mom invented event. Wife always guilt trips me when I whine about it. The kids run around with their friends the whole time while the dads stand around awkwardly waiting for the two hours to be over. Get to spend maybe 10 min dancing with my kid.

We go to games, museums, movies, out to meals all the time and get to interact. This event actually results in less time than average spent together on a Saturday night.

I realize not all dads get to spend as much time with their kids and I sound like a whiny dodint about it. She quit girl scouts so we’re down from two of these a year to one.

Humbug.

Tell them to crank up the hall and Oates and go to town. That's 2 good hours of dancing. Great times!

Ah man, I was sort of looking forward to this in a few years. Makes sense they would just go hang out with their friends instead. I guess the lesson learned is to make sure your phone is charged beforehand.

Yup, charge phone and see if you can get a buddy to go with you. It’s basically like a regular school dance except the boys are now much older.

The girl scouts at least do a sit down dinner so you can interact for a while which is nicer. The school one is pretty useless.

And yeah, 100% charge on the phone.

Tangent - the notion that the dancing comes first and the free spirit attitude follows is a significant pet peeve of mine since it clearly works the other way around. But I am glad someone is enjoying these things.
