In other words, they get it from their mother. Most signs point to it not being the parenting, just the genetic make up and personality of the kid.

Currently in that weird situation where your son seems happy and excited for school but he has a stuffy nose and there was apparently a kid with RSV in the class last week.

Y'all are going to be in for some fun when you have teenagers. My 12 year old had an orthodontist appointment yesterday at 11:45. He was done by 12:30. He wanted to be signed out for the day. Nah, bud. You've got three hours left of school. Nice try lol.
The constant and eternal struggle to get them off their phones is another tale you need to know about. Apparently, we are the only parents in the world that use iOS parental controls during the school year. My high schooler's phone locks at 10:30; he can text and call us 24 hours per day though.
The 12 year old's phone locks at 9:00, but we don't let him keep it in his room because the iOS screen time restrictions don't always work properly. As in everything locks EXCEPT for the apps he likes to use: Apple Music, Snapchat, and TikTok. It's really trying to keep one step ahead of them.

Kids shouldn’t have smart phones. Period. There’s no reason for it other than social stigma…which is strong enough that it basically holds parents hostage. We’re really going to regret this.

Was going to post something similar. My kids will get dumb phones. Go, have fun with your friends. I'll text/call when dinner is ready/bedtime. A slight upgrade from my mom screaming across the neighborhood over 10 other mothers' voices.Kids shouldn’t have smart phones. Period. My kid is almost 10 and has a flip phone that can call or text. We check it daily. He only has 3 numbers in there. He won't have a smart phone until it's necessary or when he's an adult. Whichever comes first. He uses my phone sometimes to make videos or play games so he knows how to use one. He doesn't need one and won't for some time.

Very nice. And how did you get that? By exploiting the workers. By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society.

Just received an email from our school district letting us know that meals are free for all students this year, regardless of their eligibility for the normal program. Was not expecting that, and I’m happy to see it.

PPS accidentally mailed a huge portion of mailers to the wrong addresses. The information on the mailers include:
Student name, school, student ID number, email, user ID, password, and lunch pin.

Same for us. Saves us a bunch of time and headache. Don’t care about the cost, really, it’s making lunches every day that now gets scrapped.Just received an email from our school district letting us know that meals are free for all students this year, regardless of their eligibility for the normal program. Yeah, I’m inclined to let my daughter get lunch at school every day now because of this. I think there is one day where she doesn’t like what they have, so we can just make her lunch that day.

Same, wasn't sure if it was a statewide decision, given that school districts tend to be a part of different programs. Ours is managed by Chartwells.Yep, PA. Didn’t know it was a state thing

This feels like my daughter's first day of daycare when she was a baby. I miss her even though she has basically been within 20' of me for so long now.
