Definitely gonna have him pick out a gift. We don't know what it is yet, so it may be a little tough but I'm sure a gender neutral outfit will work

Speaking of baby No. 2 - this is one of the craziest f'in things related to baby birth I have ever read:
Radek Stepanek (former tennis star) and Nicole Vaidisova (not a bad player, either) just had baby No. 2. If you correctly guess what Nicole did 11 hours(!!!) after giving birth - you have my huge respect! Think big - then click here (and go to the very last answer):

Sitting at the kitchen table playing a game with my daughter and in laws. Hear my son's voice (still not many words yet but he tries) but it wasn't coming from the monitor. Quickly check monitor and see empty crib. I drop the monitor and run for the stairs.
Round the corner and my son is sitting happily at the top. When he sees me, he takes off for our bedroom. It looked like he had been out of his crib for about twenty minutes and was playing in various rooms. When he was done, he called for us to come get him. Thank God he had a good sense around heights.
When our daughter got out of her crib the first time, it was an unmistakable thud. This kid is a frigging ninja. I've NEVER seen him even try to get out

Taking our kid to one of those trampoline parks today. Her friend from daycare has a yearly pass and just got a little brother. They take him there to try and run as much energy out of him as possible. They asked if our kiddo wanted to join them today and we said sure… why not.
Went to the reviews for the place and everything seems good. The one made me laugh a bit: “Mostly Great. The kids have a great time here. I'd like to see some kind of activity, for the parents.” Like… what? A bar? I just am not sure what she expected there to be beyond trampolines.

I can’t believe how kids enjoy it for as long as they do. It just seems boring to me after a bit. There’s a place near us that we go to that has trampolines, a zipline, and a bunch of other stuff that is much more enjoyable, according to my daughter.

Yeah. I bought the 2 hour pass for the day. We’ll see how long she makes it. Probably close to that as it’ll then be lunch time.

I came into this thread to make a trampoline park postbut c2i beat me to the punch lol
when y'all go to those do you go on the trampolines yourself? I don't have any kids but I'll go with my nieces and nephews and I **** love that ****. I went with my nephew, SIL and brother earlier today and while he jumped,my brother conceded that he doesn't find it that fun. Not to mention that I would wager less than 10% of other parents weren't jumping
Its physically demanding so I can maybe see that aspect of it but that's almost a good thing too. I burned 600 calories in just over an hour's worth of jumping today.

Helps to be their height.
Easy joke, but c2i is quite tall.

I do think that's a legitimate advantage on everything except the basketball rims that you can trampoline up and dunk on. Being taller would allow for cooler dunks

I want to say the one around me had a weight limit that was significantly less than what my fatass weighs.

I would never do a trampoline in my 30's due to the fact that I feel like I could tear an ACL/MCL at any moment doing stupid easy stuff now lol

I’ll admit that scares me too lol
but I figure if I keep myself in good shape then it’s less of a realistic concern. either that or my defiance of accepting the reality of aging is going to lead to a gnarly injury

I don't do the trampoline stuff, but I'll go on the zipline all day long.

My kid is just shy of 4. She didn’t do so much jumping as just running around and playing in the foam block pits. I bought a pair of socks for myself and the guy asked if I was going to be jumping. I said “no, but I want these on just in case I have to go rescue her.” Seems a lot of parents do the same.

I enjoy going to the trampoline park with my daughter, although we haven't been in two years. Looking forward to taking my son next year.

We've been trying to break the habit of lil Mac needing someone to lay with him at night. I have to laugh because changing these types of behaviors is so obvious and easy but in the stress of the moment I never come up with something good. Last night I tried shutting him in the room and saying he'd get a prize if he stayed in bed. That lasted like 2 minutes and ended with both of us irritated with the other. Today I read on some methods for breaking this habit and (DUH) one is to set a timer for 5 minutes and say you'll be back to check on him then. I even let him pick the number and start the timer. He was literally asleep before the timer even went off lol.

My daughter just turned 8. I lay with her every night (basically hang out and chat and stay in for about five minutes). The chat part will last a long time, me sitting in the chair eventually of course. But the last part will be over very soon. I'm cherishing every minute of it, no doubt.

Yeah, not gonna lie. Kinda sad about it but there are nights when I need to get stuff done and laying with him for 45 minutes kills any productivity I have. Oh yeah, I get it. I was in there for a similar time as you at that age, we've gradually scaled it back over the years. Don't be surprised if you end up doing something similarYeah, not gonna lie. Our boys are (almost) 6 and 8, and we still spend about 15 minutes with them every night. There's always a ton of stuff to do after, and one of my favorite parts of the day is when it's just my wife and I, but that 15 minutes is still golden to me. I think we'll do this until our kids tell us to stop it. Same with giving them a kiss goodbye/goodnight.
