Starting to get worried that our 13 month old daughter has no teeth yet. Our 2 boys had teeth by 6 months. Good thing is she eats all kinds of food like a champ

Best thing to ever happen to us. I've been working from home since my Covid bout and somehow that translates to me surfing the web less than when I'm in the office.

Our little one had a false positive at birth for a thyroid issue. She didn’t have any teeth for a long time. The doctor told us that as long as she got them by 15 months, we were fine. She could have stopped there. But she then said “if she doesn’t have any by then, we’ll do some further investigation”. Again, she could have stopped there. She went on to say “because if she doesn’t, it might be a thyroid issue...”. Oh, come on...Starting to get worried that our 13 month old daughter has no teeth yet. Our 2 boys had teeth by 6 months. She popped her first tooth a week shy of 15 months. She now (just short of 3 years old) has em all.

I have found that so far, my favorite age was 2-2.5.
My kid is almost 3.

You have a girl.
Have a boy and report back about 2-2.5.
I'll be at 2 years 1 month tomorrow and I want to hang him upside down from the porch except he would like that too much.

^ is correct
Now, baby girl is only 13 months and she can't do anything wrong in daddy's eyes, but I would be remiss if I didn't say she's 100x's easier than my two boys.

My boy was pretty good from 2-2.5 and a boundary testing A hole from 2.5 to 3.
Three until now has been awesome and my favorite time so far. Hes like a real person and has that hunger for knowledge but in an innocent way. I always have to remind myself when he has his moments that he's still only 3.

We have kept our son (now 17 months) home since the start of the pandemic. He only attended day care for about a month. The day care we go to is an excellent program...our daughter went from the time she was three months until K and excelled. He is a great kid that self-plays beautifully while we work and is a ton of fun, but he is definitely lagging behind his big sister in several different areas.
We made the decision to send him back at the beginning of May...I'm confident that will get him on all of the milestone tracks again. Plus, we know he will love going there and at this point it's not fair to him if both of us are busy with work. Gonna be tough no doubt.

My girls and boys are opposites (wow, big shock). There is an inverse relationship to age and behavior.
My oldest is 14 (almost 15) and 80% of the time is a big help around the house, is fun to be around, etc... 20% of the time she is an insane teenage girl, but that's not a big deal to me. It's like a big wave, you just deal with it and move on. Making a big deal about it just makes it worse. The 12 y/o girl has always been even keel from the second she left the womb. However the oldest was a HOLY TERROR until she got to be about 11 or 12.
The two younger kids (both boys) were pretty easy folks, but as each has gotten older they've been like velociraptors testing the fences.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy this whole process of raising vipers in diapers into men, etc... but dealing with the boys gets harder as they get older (also because they are both going to be bigger than me, I have to fight dirty), and the girls have gotten a little easier as they've aged. Plus, as a Dad I'm easier on the girls any way.

Gr8 post...love the velociraptor comparison.
My daughter is 7, and she still loves me to put her to bed every night. I lay with her and hold her hand until I know she's been asleep for about ten minutes, and then quietly slip out. I don't want this time to end

Can confirm. Son is 2yr3mo and is an absolute rule-bending, boundary pushing animal. Still a blast though, he's getting a real personality and is a blast to play with. You have a girl.

Tuesdays and Fridays I wfh with my 7 year old son. The best part is we both play an hour of video games by ourselves, then a half hour of games together at the end of the day. My wife is not a fan, but this is how we bond.

ooh boy, looks like we're 2 nights away from Cedric Diggery dying in Harry Potter. Could be a tough bed time.
Anyone read this series to their little kids (6 and 8)? Did this require a conversation after?
We've definitely crossed a point of maturity that's a little ahead of my kids' ages with these books. Also, these wizard teachers all have brain damage or something. Bunch of incompetent morons. They should teach like regular subjects at Hogwarts. Social studies, for example, would go a long way to preventing sub 100 IQ's from being the only talent pool for teachers.

I only read small excepts to my 6/7 year old at night; he read the rest himself. He didn’t have too many issues with Diggery, at least compared to Voldemort and the snake. When those scenes come up in the movie, he leaves the room
