Just got word from my wife that my MIL agreed to take the little one for 5 days (4 nights) this summer so that the two of us can get away for a vacation...

Congrats! We had three days to ourselves last week in Hilton Head just last week. It was awesome!

I'm jealous. We didn't go last year, and I'm still not sure if we'll go this summer, even though I really want to.

That's awesome. I actually know some parents that steadfastly refuse to be away from their child for even a single night.

We're coming up on 9 months straight and a total of 2 nights without a wake-up... we need a vacation from our child.

Same here. My parents watched our daughter when she was a little over one year old while we went on an 11-day vacation, and it was very much needed.

While standing in line at swim class waiting for the session to begin, one of the kids in my daughter’s class walks up to me and hugs me, the proceeds to repeatedly smack/punch me in the stomach, then starts poking me. Meanwhile, his mom just sits on her ass (I know she saw).

Had a birthday party yesterday @ The Main Event for my now teenage boys. Between them both they raked almost what we spent on their party

Nothing grinds my gears more than having to discipline a friend's kid. Like I get it, he's a year and a half old and wants to piss around. But when he's yelling for attention, throwing food around my house, and you just sit there and do nothing, I'm gonna say something.

15 month check up for the little man.

Height: 35.5 inches

Weight: 33lbs

He is like 99 percentile for a two year old...

Nice. Our daughter was in the high 90s for the first couple years. Now, she is just absurdly tall. At 5, she is taller than @malkintent's oldest, who has a year and some days on her.

We are actually hosting said malkintent's daughter tonight for a sleepover with ours.

Just had our 9 month visit. Girl is a chunker. I think she was 90th (ish) percentile for weight, and 60th (ish) for height.

Just means she's going to sprout here soon... she keeps flip flopping height and weight percentiles, so she'll be stretching out before we know it.

Yea our son at 2 months was 85% for height, and only 30% for weight, then I feel like in the last two weeks he's just kind of blown up weight wise.

The second week of daycare, the first sickness - which has been passed on to me. Fantastic.

You're in the splash zone now!

Little one got her first real bout of sickness. She had little colds here and there, and she had an ear infection that was bugging her until we got her on antibiotics, but what she has now is the first time where she's just looked miserable. I feel so bad for her. Fever, sleepy, grumpy, and super clingy. I've got the afternoon shift with her, so I'm heading home here soon.

At least I'll get to watch some champions league soccer...

Oh yeah...you are in for a wild ride of nonstop sinus infections

It is heartbreaking when all they want is to cling to you.

We’re just doing a homemade family meal tonight. Fresh pasta that I rolled out an hour ago, and whatever dessert I find at the Italian store in a few minutes.
