1) mini meow is badass.
2) I'd definitely see if they would partner him with someone else. At some point you stop learning when you are consistently better than your opponent.

Yeah I'm in a weird spot with our daughter's soccer class too. She is the only girl in the class...that said, she absolutely holds her own, but I think sometimes she overcompensates a bit. It is intensely gratifying to see her score a goal or two against the boys.
@NTP66, have you ever done anything at United Sports? I know it's probably a little far from wherever you are but damn that place is HUGE.

It's pretty impressive. We are having her birthday party there later this month, they have been incredibly flexible and accommodating with everything from food to activities, etc. The kids that work there (a lot of high schoolers coaching after school) are all really friendly.I haven't, no, but that place looks awesome.

We went to a [much] smaller place similar to that for a birthday party a few months ago, and the kids all seemed to love it. Some were playing soccer, some doing the bouncy house, and others just generally running around screaming like miniature maniacs.

I really hate the Saturday before Halloween. Every year there are multiple conflicting events that occur and we have to pick. And every year my neice’s birthday party is on that Saturday even though her birthday is mid-November. I really wish my sister wouldn’t do that. Argh.
This year is five events: birthday party, local Halloween parade, local fall festival (why the frig can’t this be in November or early October. Every damn year), church trunk or treat, and a Girl Scout event (we already ruled this out). There was going to be a cheerleading event too but that got moved up a week thankfully. And they all happen within like a four hour window. Sigh. Our schedule the next day? Completely open. Sigh.

If it's a family birthday party, I would figure that trumps all.

I agree it does but my kids want to do the other stuff too but the timing of everything means we usually have to pick one thing. They don’t see their cousins that much so they want to go to the party. Just wish everything wa spread out.If it's a family birthday party, I would figure that trumps all.

A huge gang fight broke out outside of our town's high school football game, possible gunshots fired. My son was at the game with a friend and nearly was trampled when the sheriff's department cleared the stadium. Fortunately, his friend's dad is a state trooper and escorted them out in a patrol Tahoe.
He came home shaking he was so scared. We may be in for a long night...

And he was there with the friend’s mom and grandmother...
I forgot to mention what an event Friday nights are in the fall in the rural south. I’m sure it’s a big deal in Pittsburgh, but there can be 5000+ people in the stands (and evidently outside in the parking lot) for a town of just over 7000+.

Your sister is a dodint. Your family should hold an intervention explaining that she doesn't need to have a birthday party on a holiday weekend, weeks before the actual party. Her expecting people to forgo Halloween events is the epitome of selfishness, imo.And every year my neice’s birthday party is on that Saturday even though her birthday is mid-November. I really wish my sister wouldn’t do that. Argh.

Lay the groundwork now.
“Hey sis. Great party. By the way, if this party is the same weekend next year, we might have to miss because of xx event.”

I stopped at daycare to pick up the little one... there's this other kid there that has a giant block head. Reminds me of a minecraft character. Dude is always crying. Everytime I see him, he's crying. I feel bad for him, but I'm super thankful my kid barely cries at all. Anyways, I walk in today, and he and my daughter are sitting on the floor facing each other and every time he starts to cry, she starts laughing at him and he stops. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Like was she trying to comfort him? Or was she laughing at his misery?

We have a fully crawling baby now. She's had the physical ability to do this for a month or so now. In fact she would frequently scoot backwards, but the action of hand-foot coordination to move forward had eluded her. Yesterday something just clicked and she started crawling. My poor dogs... they've got no chance.
