I think I'd like to be surprised. The wife not not so much, but I have all the patience and she has none of it.

If she can deal with being married to Punsilentommy, you can't claim she has no patience.

probably the greatest surprise one can have. I get people are planners, but I it's more fun the other way. Hell, I just finished up the kids nursery last summer and they are 8 and 6...

DGIII, not quite a year after fracturing three metatarsals during a baserunning drill during baseball practice, fell off the artificial mound while scrambling to cover home and really sprained his ankle. Three days later he can't put weight on it.

Since it was the same foot as his metatarsal fractures, we took him to an urgent care for x-rays. Nothing broken, according to the doctor there, but my boy is in a lot of discomfort.

Not much swelling, and it does feel better (just the ankle sore, not the top of the foot) - is this just a bad sprain? Or could it be something more serious? He's going to the pediatrician today, but they won't be able to do much.
DGIII returns to action tonight. Thanks for the concern, everyone! :slug:

We also found out when they popped out. I enjoyed how it pissed people off almost as much as finding out at the birth. Some folks got real surly that we didn’t find out
I've heard this as well... my wife and I are planners, and she probably hates surprises more than any person on this earth, so if there's information that's readily available, she wants it. But to get mad at someone for not finding out until birth? That's just odd to me.
“How are we supposed to know what to buy?”
“How exactly do you plan to do the nursery without knowing the gender?”
“Your life would be easier if you just found out.”

These are actual things we heard from individuals. Real life people said these things to a pregnant woman.

wtf? diapers, onsies, burp clothes, toys for infants, sheets, these are all gender neutral things, or I should say can be gender neutral.

Hey @Freddy Rumsen how's baseball going?

Also, does your church have service on Wednesday nights? If so, does that interfere with baseball? Our coach likes to practice on Wednesdays, because we can get field time (with a pitching mound, and the actual field we play on). A couple of parents are irritated, because that's a big Southern Baptist (and other) church night.

As for my son's season, he returned from the 10 day DL to spark a 4 run comeback in a two plus hour game that didn't end until almost 9PM last night. It was 40F, and the game kept going and going...

I don't have kids yet, but every time that my wife and I talk about it I push for not finding out. She has literally said each of those things to me to persuade me to want to find out.

Accusing me of being Southern Baptist is worse than saying shad supports BLM. ;)

And baseball is going great, my older son is playing CF because he listens to the coach about where to throw.

The Wednesday night thing is a problem as I'm busy that night, and it would kind of look bad if my kid wad allowed to skip for sports, so he goes to practice one night a week.

He won't have games that night though.

Only real problem is that my son since he's new is on the team with all the people that didn't fit numbers wise with the established teams so they are going to get crushed I fear.

Today my daughter and I played a new game [for me, at least]. I call it “Draw the metal object that you accidentally swallowed or we’ll need to get x-rays taken just to be safe”. I lost the game, and x-rays were taken.

Relax. Kids swallow quarters all the time. If she craps out two dimes and a nickel, then you can start worrying.

I was worried about it being something sharp, since what she was drawing wasn’t entirely round. Better safe than sorry in this instance.

Ah yes, I've commented on this in this thread. My kids, until very recently, were on these teams until just last year.

Average talent, didn't go to high school with any of the coaches, means you're on a bad team. It drove my older son out of the game entirely.

But as long as he's having fun, that's what matters.
