I don't think I watched 1 pitch of the WS. First time I can remember in my life.

"Historically, the Red Sox have been excellent at winning WS in the first 18 years of a century and horrible for the next 82."

Some random Twitter comment.

Cue @Blue Canary with the fawning over Pearce winning the MVP.

I know I went off on Roberts's many foibles but in the end, the Red Sox were just better in all phases of the game. And to have a guy like Pearce get peeled off the scrap heap at the trade deadline and do what he did with this group says a lot for the work everyone in the organization has done. They were the best team this season and rightfully won the championship.

They were the best team, and it wasn't close. We can argue that they were also the best team money can buy.

I wonder if Nutting and the Bucs' FO see stuff like this and it registers a pulse. I wonder why I care what they see.

Steve Pearce a WSMVP. What a timeline.
Someone really needs to go back in time to make sure Trump Biff doesn't get that Sports Almanac.

Sources: The Cubs have financial concerns that may limit their ability and motivation to make a huge splash this winter. Looking at what the Cole Hamels deal means for Bryce Harper.

Nats offered Harper $300MM over 10 years with no opt-outs. He declined.

PTI was saying yesterday that the Yankees don't want him, they'd have to move Stanton to do it and they wouldn't get much of a gain out of that.

Seems dumb. They should have to get to league leader qualifier PA's to get this as well.

A's manager. The A's manager should always get AL Manager of the Year because they're cheaper than the Pirates.

Al Oliver was a much better player, hitting and defense, than Baines.

What a terrible vote.

Harold Baines, wow. Among the truly bad stats... never higher than 9th in MVP voting. And does this set the standard for DH's? If so, Edgar Martinez and David Ortiz should waltz in.

Big time nepotism.

Get Al Oliver in the Hall if this is the new standard.

It's pretty impressive how little the Cards gave up to add Ozuna, Goldschmidt and Miller to their roster the last two years.
