I am most certainly a purist and I’m out for good, if they do that or the start a runner on 2B in extra innings.

**** that noise.
I am all for common sense actions to make the game more streamlined. The pitcher mound meetings, for example. When it crosses the line into NASCAR style gimmickry, no thanks.

my final stance is i may be okay with it if they put it in say, after the 12th inning as a lets-get-this-thing-over-with tool as opposed to a make-the-9th-inning-great-again gimmick. otherwise pass

I'm certainly fine if they didn't do it/I'm not a strong advocate for it. I just think it's neat.

I've heard rumors that c2i and ulf have been plotting to undermine America's pastime, as part of their covert crusade to move the country past its traditional values and usher in an era of "post-Americanism". I'm not going to post the links, you can find them easily on Google.

That’s how you maximize the financial utility of a young star.

Was listening to a discussion about this the other day. People at the park don't care, people at home don't want to sit through commercials then come back to watch 19 mound visits an inning.

There's minimal risk at 4.3 mil per year but I think he's due for a decent step back here.. 120 Ks to 20 BBs last year. You're right though it's worth doing it. The Bucs tried to with Polanco, luckily he didn't accept

Ichiro back to the Mariners. Have to imagine this is his ride into the sunset, whether he likes it or not.

he got a standing O last year at PNC park when he pinch his for the fish. I forgot he was even on the Marlins' roster, and when they announced him, he got some well deserved love

that being said he stinks now.

This is a really good Ichiro article that just came out. Ichiro is likely worse than Sid when it comes to routines. Also seems like he will have a difficult time adjusting to a post-player life.

I really wonder if all sports are eventually headed in this weird, gimmicky direction. You can only tinker so much without dramatically changing the game.

My son's travel ball league does this. It's weird.

They won a game with a stolen base and a passed ball.

I hadn’t really thought about it before, but I now know there there are long term upstate NYers, who root for the Blue Jays.
