From 1992-2007, Bonds had an OPS of 1.000 or more every year except 2006 when he OPSd .999. in 2004 he walked 232 times and had an OBP of .609. effing ridiculous

He walked 2,600 times. I don't even know if Vlad saw that many pitches

Agree on Bonds.
Also, as consistently good as Thome was, he was never really considered one of the top players of his generation. He’s a tough one for me. Is it as good to put up very good numbers for 20 years to put up amazing numbers for 12 - 15 years?

Lets put it this way: there was only a handful of seasons where thome was the best hitter on his team let alone the league. Granted he played with some greats, but even then, you gotta stand out at least one in a while.

that was always my gripes with jeter, too.

I don't give a **** what some Defensive WAR statistics says, Vlad was awesome in the field because Vlad was awesome at everything.

Speaking of Jeter, the other day I asked my buddy how life under the Jeter regime is going and he managed to send me a video of Jeter hard at work.

The best hitter of all time is still not in the hall of fame
Tony Gwynn? He's been in for at least a decade.

Who are the shortstops that are better than Jeter all-time? Very short list. Jeter was the best player on most of the teams he played on.

I think Bonds and Clemens both get in in their last year of eligibility.

Jeter played with A-Rod most of his career, right?

Very true. Daily Death Spiral should be a highlight thread.
