I'll never understand why these guys feel the need to wear gaudy jewelry during games.
Yoenis Céspedes paid a high price for a one-out double in the first inning tonight against the Braves. After sliding into second, he realized that his chain had broken—leaving gemstones all around the bag. While none of his teammates were able to bring him home, second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera did stop to collect some of the diamonds when he took his position next inning:

#Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki is transitioning to the role of Special Assistant to the Chairman, effective today.

When I hear Sammy Sosa, all I can think about is the time the Pirates clocked him in the head with a pitch and Mark Madden commented that he couldn't help it because Sosa's head grew into the pitch.

4 Dodgers pitchers combine to no-hit the Padres...which since it's the Padres, it's about as impressive as if they had no-hit a high school team.

Also, Pujols goes for #3000...a punch flare to right.

Regardless of what the Pirates got back, let's not pretend his numbers would be close to what they are now if he was in Pittsburgh

Cole had basically gone into Operation Shutdown last year. Each side is better off without the other.

Yankees have now won 15 of 16, shaking off the slow start. We’ll see if the pitching holds up, but their hitting is definitely in good shape, especially if Torres keeps it up.

I know the Yanks and Sox were expected to be the horses in that division, but what happened to the Orioles? Wow they fell off quickly

They've given Pedro Alvarez 43 innings at 3B this year. If that's not an act of desperation I don't know what is. Beyond that, the only good player on their team in Machado, who I'm sure can't wait to get the hell out. Adam Jones has fallen apart. Chris Davis switched to the wrong kind of steroids. Two starting pitchers have a WHIP above 2. They're just a bad team.

-18.75 Draftkings points for me :face:

Meanwhile, Paxton for Seattle threw a no-hitter at Toronto in less than 100 pitches. He’s Canadian. And now there have been 3 no-hitters in 3 different countries this season. Paxton’s last 3 pitches were 97, 100, and 96.

To the F'in Royals. I simply cannot fathom a team that could give up 10, let alone 15 to these guys.

The Mets batted out of order in the first inning against the Reds on Wednesday, undercutting a rally.

Wilmer Flores batted second and struck out against Sal Romano for the second out of the inning. Asdrubal Cabrera came up next — following the batting order announced pregame — and doubled to left.

When cleanup hitter Jay Bruce came to the plate, umpire Gabe Morales took out the lineup card that the Mets had turned in and called an out for batting out of turn. The Mets' lineup card was different than the announced order, showing Cabrera batting second and Flores third.
That's a very Mets thing to do.

I'd rather give up 10 runs before recording an out than bat out of order

Cano suspended 80 games

http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/2351 ... -agreement
All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano of the Seattle Mariners was suspended 80 games without pay by Major League Baseball after he tested positive for a banned substance, it was announced Tuesday.

Cano tested positive for the diuretic furosemide, which violates MLB's drug prevention and treatment program. He said he would accept the suspension, which begins immediately.
