Yep, and Pitt was scheduled to play in a early-season tourney there last year, but...Covid.

There is no group of people who like to huff their own farts more than baseball writers.

Aside from his actual credentials, schilling likes curt schilling. Funny he waited until his last year of eligibility to make the bold proclamation.

Schilling belongs in the baseball hall of fame for his baseball.

There are a lot worse characters (Kirby Puckett) who made it in recently and bigger Trumpers (Mariano Rivera).

Is Schilling that easy of a call for the HOF? 5 seasons of over 200 Ks, 2 20 win seasons (wins are worthless imo but these are things they consider), 3.46 career ERA..

Yes, schillings baseball work should get him in. He’s still a prick who only did this now to further whatever brand he has left. If he had gotten those twelve extra votes it’s not like he would’ve turned it down and said, “nah, I’ll wait for the vets to get me in.”

I don't know. He's an ass and that doesn't help his case. But I think people are acting like he's a first ballot HOF getting snubbed here. I'd probably lean toward yes gun to my head, but I think it's closer than most are letting on and his character is the deciding factor. Imo

What puts Schilling over the top is his postseason performance. That and his 3,000+ strikeouts, 15th all-time.

No one thinks he's first ballot. Next year would be his last on the ballot.

I don’t think he was an easy call one, but should be in. Agree about wins, and also only had 212 career. Never won cy young and wasn’t “best pitcher in the league” at any point. However, post season work puts him over the top.

Re Puckett... I believe his legal issues came to light after he was inducted. Not sure he would’ve been inducted as quickly if the order was reversed. Although the morals clause can certainly be questioned with other people.

The fact that the baseball writers have turned this into a sideshow of egocentric smugness and a platform to share their own opinions and try to influence others is a real shame.

There are plenty of names on that list that belong in. Fix the process.

I’m surprised Manny was so low in votes

Obviously a biased Sox fan but him and Schilling deserve to be in
