Universal DH? Awesome!
Expanded Playoffs? Trash.
Not sure how to feel right now.

For a sport that plays 162 games, an expanded playoff makes absolutely no sense
If you’re going to go 8 teams per league just reduce the regular season to 80 games

I'd be fine going back to two divisions per league and a four-team playoff.

Interesting timeline for home run leaders.
Two things stand out.
1) Babe Ruth was so far ahead of his contemporaries.
2) The steroid era made stats laughable.

Cool graphic. It's actually maddening to see all of those roid names supplant the other guys during the late 90s and early oughts

That seems pretty short-sighted by the players. While I don’t agree with expanded playoffs, I do think that is the one way to possibly bring in more fans and increase individual player recognition. More fans brings more revenue and greater likelihood of spending. You also have more teams who might spend more thinking they now have a shot at the playoffs.

more playoffs mean more time spent by pitchers adjusting and readjusting their cap, taking deep breaths and walking around the mound trying to focus while batters stare even longer at the third base coach and adjust the gloves one extra time to make sure they are focused. you can sprinkle in even more pick off attempts to keep the guy that stole 4 bases in the regular season close to the bag, just in case it is a steal situation
pass on more playoff baseball

Baseball, at the MLB level, needs some serious help. I love watching college baseball, especially at my school. Two games in four hours. No long breaks between innings, few shenanigans, decent baseball. In fact, we start in about three weeks...I think with fans.

I watch a lot of ACC baseball and love it. And just college baseball overall. Much better than MLB IMO.Baseball, at the MLB level, needs some serious help. Yeah, I watch a good bit of D1 baseball as well. Usually go to Clemson for a few games each year as well. But nothing beats five games in three days for D2 teams. And usually there's a similar softball schedule going on across the parking lot lol. (Our softball teams are usually better than our baseball teams).

I was just going to say, one of my favorite days with the kids was bringing them down to the Peterson Sports Complex one weekend. There was a baseball game against UVA and a softball double header against FSU I believe. We literally spent the afternoon just going back and forth between the softball double header and the baseball game, got some snacks, etc. ANd it was like $20 total for the entire family to get in for 3 games.
We go down to at least 2 or 3 Pitt baseball and 2 or 3 Pitt softball games a season. Much rather go there than the Buccos.
