The Phillies are going to be really, really, really freaking good.
They win another World Series this year imo
They need a lot of young pitching to come through. The team Harper left is better than the one he joined.

Insane atmosphere at Citizen Bank. Bryce blasts one, crowd loses it, gives him a standing O.

Philly, Philly. Honestly might be my team if the Pirates do suck like we think.

Look - I hate the Flyers. Eagles fans annoying too. But they are insanely passionate. Trust the system with the best big man in the Association.

Philly sports is freaking great.

I despise with a fiery passion the hot start Cutch is having with the Phillies, and I still love the guy. Another HR tonight.

I'd give anything if he were still with the Yankees. Yep, you heard right.

We were just talking about the Dodgers incident recently in the other thread. WTF is up with that fanbase? I know the Dodgers are one of the more gang-affiliated teams, so maybe it brings more undesirables to the ballpark?

https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2019/03 ... ot-attack/
Police are still looking for a man who attacked 45-year-old Rafael Reyna in the Dodger Stadium parking lot, leaving him on life support with a fractured skull.

The suspect reportedly confronted Reyna as he walked to his car after Friday night’s extra innings game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Reyna was on the phone with his wife, Christel, when the attack happened. She told CBSLA in an emotional interview that she could hear someone yelling at her husband, and then heard a loud thump. She remained on the phone as strangers tended to her husband.

Do you have a power ranking for this? And if so, can I assume the Pirates suck at that too?

Actually...I do. The Pirates are in fifth place.

Adopted by: Latin Kings (Chicago, New York), Piru Bloods (L.A.)
Why: Black and gold Yankee hats used to be a staple among the Latin Kings but recently the Pittsburgh Pirate fitted has become more prominent. The "P" logo makes an obvious match for L.A.'s Piru Bloods.

The Fall of Chris Davis has been....remarkable.
The last time we checked in on Chris Davis, things weren’t going so hot. He was about halfway through what turned out to be one of the worst seasons in baseball history.

In 470 at-bats for the Baltimore Orioles, Davis hit .168, the lowest average since 1900 for a player who qualified for the batting title. Based on the advanced metric wins above replacement, or WAR, he was worth about three wins less than a typical Triple-A call-up.
After whiffing in all three of his at-bats in Thursday’s loss to the New York Yankees, Davis fell to 0-for-17 on the season with 11 strikeouts.
On Sept. 14, 2018, in the second-inning of a meaningless game against the Chicago White Sox, Davis lined a double down the right-field line off right-hander James Shields. He hasn’t recorded a hit since, a stretch of 38 consecutive at-bats.

From Sept. 14, 2010, until Sept. 28, 2011, Eugenio Vélez went 46 straight at-bats without a hit, the longest streak ever for a non-pitcher. Before that, the record had been held by Craig Counsell, Dave Campbell and Bill Bergen.
On the other hand, he’s in the fourth season of a seven-year, $161 million contract, so he’ll probably be OK.

Orioles announce 6,585 fans at Camden Yards tonight. The lowest in the history of the ballpark for an open-admission game. The previous low was a year ago, April 9, when they had 7,915 against Toronto.

It’s pretty sad what that franchise has become. I went to college in that area in the mid 90s and you couldn’t go to Camden Yards without a 30-day notice. There were times you would wake up on a weekend day when the O’s were in town and it was nice and you would want to go but the game was sold out. To see it as a mausoleum with a bad team is really weird.

And Angelos did spend money...on a guy that is now 0 for 49.
