I flipped to the Pens game so I missed it. Kind of figured Verlander wouldn't be in still. Nice.

They got 4 runs on two infield hits (and an error by Bregman)
It really seems like the Nationals year. A gift from the baseball gods for the transgressions of Bryce Harper I suppose

They scored that SS bobble as a hit, but had he been able to corral it and flip it to the second baseman this inning would've been over. Instead the Nats have batted around the order.

Really breaks my heart. Good thing Verlander has Kate Upton to go home to.Verlander gives up a HR to Suzuki, Nationals up 3-2
Hopefully he's not seeing ghosts back there. They mic the home plate ump now?

Anywhere from +185 to +195. Astros were the biggest favorite since 2007 (Red Sox-Rockies).

*whew*
Would be amusing if he went full Cinderella. His spell was broken at midnight and he went 0-for the rest of the series.

'The Birthday Boy Juan Soto' just grounded out to first with RISP to end the inning.

'The Birthday Boy Juan Soto' almost threw a ball into the netting behind home plate, allowing a Houston run to score.

6th player ever to make a WS error on his birthday. Thanks, Joe Buck.

Looking too. Must have been seeing 3 baseballs after that birthday celebration the night before.'The Birthday Boy Juan Soto' strikes out to end the game.

Astros strategy of hitting every pitch is pretty sound, imo.

As cool as the story was with the Nats winning the first two games of this series, it's reallllllllllllly not looking good for them. They really needed to win 1 of 2 at home, because the chances of them having the same luck they had in Games 1 and 2 against that pitching are not great.Astros strategy of hitting every pitch is pretty sound, imo.

Yeah, shaf. Hard to say this is a must-win, but I can't see them coming back from going 2-0 to 2-2, with both losses at home.
Soto started off with a loud line-out to the short stop, btw.

I don't think Scherzer is a sure thing. I still contend he was lucky to get away with a win in Game 1.
