Baker asking this is lol worthy.Houston manager Dusty Baker urged Major League Baseball to help protect his players from potential retaliation and to discipline opponents who hit Astros players with pitches because they're angry at the organization for the widespread cheating during their championship-winning 2017 season.

So now is any HBP of an Astros player going to be put under the microscope. Hey Dusty, you played in the era where you'd get knocked down for no reason. Suck it up and deal with the consequences even though you weren't part of any of it.
In other news, if you haven't seen Trevor Bauer's long rant about this whole situation plus the hypocrisy of the Commissioner's office. I'd link what I read today but it's behind a paywall.

Got em!It's not good to be a member of the Houston Astros these days. In fact, for two Little Leagues based in California, nobody will be a member of the Astros.
The Long Beach Little League and the East Fullerton Little League have both banned the use of "Astros" from their teams this year after the major league team was found to have illegally stolen signs en route to winning the 2017 World Series over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

So Manfred doubled down last night, referring to the commissioner's trophy as a "piece of metal"
The players need to stand up for themselves in some way, even as far as a strike.
At first I was ok with the punishment, thought it was light but figured there wasnt much more they could do. But given the way their owner, their players, and the commissioner are downplaying this, they need to lose that trophy.

Don’t think the union would allow as strike as they’d be striking against each other. They just need to let this play out, which includes the Astros taking fastballs in the ribs and ass. Don’t know what other solution there is at this point. So Manfred doubled down last night, referring to the commissioner's trophy as a "piece of metal"

I look forward to every Astros game turning into Dock Ellis vs. the Reds.

I believe any overt acts of retaliation against Astros' player would be met with harsh punishment. I doubt any player or manager would risk that.

The amount of players coming out certainly makes it seem like this wasn’t a common occurrence among several teams, and the Astros just got caught. Which makes it all the more mind boggling that they would do it to this degree. There is no way, with as much player movement as there is, that someone wasn’t going to say something eventually.

It is quite interesting that the only team able to beat the Astros in the AL playoffs were the Red Sox, managed by Houston's 2017 bench coach. So they couldn't run that scheme. And even though Houston cruised through Boston in 2017, the Red Sox have not been vocal about this scandal. Probably cause they've known about it and probably had some thing of their own.The commissioner has really painted himself into a corner here. He can’t punish the Astros’ players; he’s said he’s not going to allow punishment on the field; he’s got a bunch of players who are pissed. Fun times.
