Imo the mlb all star game is the only one where the guys can give 100% and not have to worry about hurting someone

I was reading an article yesterday about how a lot of hitters are permanently opting out of the Derby because it alters their swing for the rest of the season. That seemed crazy to me, but thinking about the extremely high level they hit at, it actually makes sense.

That said, just do it.

I think this whole thought process started when Bobby Abreu had like 30 HR at the break in 2005 or so, and had 2 after the break.

I haven’t examined his numbers, but I wouldn’t think so. I never thought of him as one of the best players in the game. I thought of him as “very good.” That said, there’s been a lot of very good players that get inducted.

I wouldn't have thought so but I was surprised by his numbers. 280+ HR, 400 steals

Yeah, I always appreciated his 30/30 potential for fantasy. However, only two all-star games and never higher than 12th in MVP voting. Very similar hitting numbers to Bernie Williams (but 250 more steals).

When Davis cane up to bat (I was watching with a bunch of Tribe fans), I said I would name my soon to be puppy Rajai if he took Chapman deep because there was no way in hell that would happen. Being the gentleman that I am, I named her Stargell because I ended up getting a girl.

Cubs fans incessantly whining that Harper cheated in the HR Derby and Schwarber should be named the winner. This is now my favorite HR Derby ever.

Looks like Machado to the Dodgers is just about done.

I'm good with this, The Dodgers are probably best positioned to keep blocking the Cubs from making the WS.
