Retractable roof stadium iirc.
In other news, MadBum was DFA'ed by the Diamondbacks.

Ever hear of the Philadelphia or Kansas City A's?it kind of sucks but a municipality losing a team isn't the worst thing in the world for that community. yeah it sucks that they lose a piece of their identity but I think there's data that shows that tax-payer funded stadiums never re-coup the costs. so ultimately the taxpayers are buying something for the wealthy owner
it's a crappy situation. also it bums me out because the Oakland A's are a staple baseball franchise

Yes but only because of a recent bit of disputed trivia about Ty Cobb. (He was incorrectly attributed to having played for the Phillies when he had in fact played for the A's, in Philly)

I knew an older guy from Philly at PSU and he grew up an A's fan (before they left town).Yes but only because of a recent bit of disputed trivia about Ty Cobb. (He was incorrectly attributed to having played for the Phillies when he had in fact played for the A's, in Philly)

The A’s have been in Oakland for as long as the Penguins have been a franchise. It’s a significant amount of time

50 years in Philly and then 50 years in Oakland so it was time for a move.the who?Ever hear of the Philadelphia or Kansas City A's?it kind of sucks but a municipality losing a team isn't the worst thing in the world for that community. yeah it sucks that they lose a piece of their identity but I think there's data that shows that tax-payer funded stadiums never re-coup the costs. so ultimately the taxpayers are buying something for the wealthy owner

it’s a chicken and egg problem. Both the fans and the owner aren’t helping things
even when the A’s are occasionally good they don’t draw

We went to a college baseball game today that started at 1. The Pirates game started at 1:35 and finished ahead of the college game. It's only in the eighth. Pitch clock please.

I know there are some conferences that do use them. One guy I’ve worked HS games with has done some SEC games and he’s used it. Clock isn’t displayed in the stadium but the HP umpire has a buzzer on his belt that he has to activate on every pitch.
After seeing how it’s worked in MLB, I’d love to see it come all the way down to HS. I’ve had far too many 2 1/2 hour 7-inning games this season.

The most amazing part of that is the notion of a cricket field in Blair county.
Damn it, nevermind.

OK, not sure what was going on here, but I watched an ACC baseball game and saw an pitch clock violation. I guess it's not widely enforced in some of the other conferences (like the Sun Belt, which is what we were watching originally) because it was a Coastal Carolina pitcher who was caught off guard by the pitch clock violation. And I didn't see a pitch clock visible in either stadium, or certainly in the terrible quality ESPN+ broadcast. We went to a college baseball game today that started at 1. I’m so confused by that story
“Shitty ball makes baseball less fun”
what’s the point?

Fun things in KC. A month into the teams worst ever season the owner is going to ask the city for $500m.
The owner plans to put funding for a downtown ballpark on the August ballot, to the tune of half a billions dollars. The Chiefs will follow that up soon after as they have an unwritten agreement with the city that both organizations get an equal handout. Of course, the problem is John Sherman bought the Royals in 2019. He brought in Mike Matheny in 2020 and the team had an ok'ish 2021 and a poor 22. So he canned him and the GM who was the architect of the World Series runs and are now on pace to be the fourth team to lose 120+ games in MLB's history.
