Astros fired Hinch and Luhnow. Cora may be next for the Red Sox.

this.I am with ktk. The punishments show that they were found guilty of cheating in a WS year. Ban Hinch and assistants from baseball, strip the title or this is all meaningless in the endIf they get to keep their rings and the organization doesn't vacate the WS or something like that, none of the perpetrators will give an eff
these 'punishments' are so minute in the scheme of things. look at the patriots, they are still cheating after spygate. anything to win.
all of these owners are billionaires. a 5 million dollar fine and some frustration related to staffing is worth the incremental revenue and legacy a world championship brings.

I mean, if Alex Presley got a hit there was definitely cheating involved.

I can’t believe people give a **** about sign stealing. Part of the game I say. Get better signs or rotating sets.

Sign stealing has been going on forever, but it was always a guy that was already on base reading the signs and tipping them. So if a runner hits second as a pitcher you’d know to mix up signs/indicators. There’s no way to tip signs without a guy on base without using technology in dugout, which was expressly prohibited in the Apple Watch saga in 2017. So everybody knew what they were doing was illegal and providing an unfair advantage.

Sounds like sour grapes. It isn’t 1913 anymore, evolve the game including signs.Sign stealing has been going on forever, but it was always a guy that was already on base reading the signs and tipping them. it's one thing to steal signs when you're on 2nd base - part of the game. You have to worry about A) getting picked off while you do it B) figuring out the actual signs because when you're on 2nd they aren't just flashing a 2 for a curveball, and C) figuring out a way to let the batter know what's coming without them catching on because lastly D) you have to be okay knowing you may get one in the earhole.I can’t believe people give a **** about sign stealing. The current situation has some jabrony looking at an HD TV with a camera pointed at the catcher from center field and banging on a trash can the instant he flashes a sign. So respectfully, gtfoh with that bush league BS

I've actually got no problem if the league is going to say that's the view moving forward, it wouldn't effect the game much. Pitchers and catchers would just use the same system they've been using since runners hit 2nd base since the dawn of time. But the league specifically cracked down on technology in the dugout which I believe is the reason they only addressed sign stealing in 2017 and not earlier.

I will say at least they’re cracking down. Unlike the NFL.

Outside of the rules in place I think it’s a non-story. However when looking at what the Patriots have and continue to do in the NFL i can see the reasoning behind thinking sign stealing is beyond the pale.If there's nothing wrong with it then what's the need to crack down on anything?
