I texted a friend who's a Rays fan in the 3rd inning and said, 'Snell doesn't come out unless his arm falls off'. He gave up a blah hit to the 9th place hitter and he was about to face hitters that he had already dominated in their previous 2 AB's. Ughhhhhh, I'm so ticked at this situation right now and I don't have a dog in the fight. I'd be destroying my house if Rocco did this during a Twins game.

Then he wastes a pinch runner with 2 outs when the guy he ran for would likely bat in the 9th (and has home run power)

It's been known to happen numerous times. But like marshmallows in @eddy's pantry, it doesn't last long.A Twins lead in the playoffs? You're good

And he pinch hit for Choi who is a hell of a defender and also has HR pop because of the whole lefty-lefty BS.Then he wastes a pinch runner with 2 outs when the guy he ran for would likely bat in the 9th (and has home run power)

So now what does Roberts do with the 5-6-7 hitters coming up for the Rays in the 9th? I'd leave Urias out there. He was untouchable in that 8th inning. But you know it's going to be either Treinen or Jansen and if it's Jansen, get that popcorn ready.

"Stick with what got you here" only works if you're satisfied with where you are.

And to put a cherry on the top of the 2020 baseball season sundae, Justin Turner had to come out of the game because his Covid test came back positive.

MLB Network saying that if this had gone to a Game 7, it wouldn't have been played until next week.

I felt bad for Turner. he's been working for this his entire life and will likely never get this chance again but seriously, are a few pictures worth someone's health/life? I wonder how he'd feel if someone on the field that he came in contact with, maybe even his manager whom he's sitting next to MASKLESS contracts COVID and dies?

Hard to believe he was able to come back out on the field honestly

Much of this is hard to believe. I have so many questions.
What are the chances this was the only positive?
How did he get it in the 'bubble'?
Why are they reviewing tests after the game started?
Gee, pretty lucky that the Dodgers won and this didn't become a scandal anyone will remember, eh?
Why did they care enough to test and release the result, but not enough to have him leave?
Those are the first few. Not saying anything intentionally nefarious actually happened; just that the whole thing is a weird half effort.

I don't know how they half assed it though. There was not going to be a bubble, just like the NFL. And there won't be for the NHL and NBA next year. Those were short term solutions to complete their playoffs.
I know the Marlins and Cards had their outbreaks, but quiet honestly, they tested regularly, made the adjustments, and until last night, did extremely well IMO given the circumstances. It's a pandemic.

Half-assed in terms of not having a real plan for what to do if teams got sick and any league-wide punishment for teams that did have outbreaks.
The reason the Cards and Marlins (among other teams) had outbreaks is because the league never gave teams guidance on how to handle it. They just said "you're on your own".

Uninspiring FA class, but it also likely to grow substantially as plenty of teams will be seeking to ditch salary after losing so much money in 2020.
Basically, the Pirates could fix their pitching staff this offseason, should they be inclined. They just signed a new TV deal and they have hardly any payroll obligations.
